Officially older today! I feel the same as always. Tired! Funny how as you get older, birthdays become less of a big deal (duh, more wrinkles and white hair!!). I don’t even celebrate them anymore. My sweet, bubbly mom buys me a box of lobster and I’m good. Happy Birthday to all ya’ll November babies out there! Remember, live in the moment! 🙂

Shu Qi is The Last Women Standing for Eddie Peng
HEHE! The plural form doesn’t work out but you can just think of having multiple Shu Qis in your life. Based on the novel, Queen Stain, written by Luo Luo, The Last Women Standing follows three spinsters as they deal with love, marriage, and family to find their spot in the world and become successful modern women. Vague? Very much so! Leading the bunch is Shu Qi and she’s chased by a younger man – her subordinate in the form of glorious abs and youthful face, Eddie Peng. The two stars previously collaborated in 2012’s Love.

A co-production between Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China, Shu Qi leads the gorgeous cast at Cannes Film Festival this year where the movie director, Hou Hsiao Hsien, picked up an award for Best Director. The story isn’t something new or creative but the music and the mood in the trailer got me! It follows a kidnapped child (Shu Qi) as she’s trained to become an assassin. Years later, she returns to her birth land and is ordered to kill a man (Chang Chen) she was once betrothed to. What will it be?
