William Chan becomes a wanted man in The Dance of the Storm with Guli Nazha

The Dance of the Storm (风暴舞) is an upcoming suspenseful modern drama starring William Chan and Guli Nazha as the main leads. The story follows our orphaned hero who lost his parents (both were top scientists) at age twelve and was sent to orphanage where he meets his best friend played by actor Guo Jia Hao. As the boys grow up, they are recommended by Chen Gang as new recruits to a security agency. There the boys meet and fall in love with our heroine, played by Guli Nazha. During an operation, our hero’s recklessness causes the death of their father figure, Chen Gang, and he puts himself in charge of finding the main culprit, which leads to many secrets and conspiracies with dangerous organizations behind the security agency. Dun, Dun, Dun!

Airing 4/25!

William may not be the best actor, but doing action scenes while looking good and handsome, he gotsa in spades. Lol.

Yang Mi and William Chan film new fantasy drama Novoland: Pearl Eclipse

Novoland: Pearl Eclipse (九州·斛珠夫人) is adapted from the novel written by Xiao Ru Qin and stars Yang Mi and William Chan. The novel is a bit creepy since he is much older than her, took her in and raised her, then they develop feelings for each other. Plus, he’s a powerful eunuch. BAH. I’m sure the drama will change that up. Lol. Anyway, in the drama she plays daughter of the merfolks and her entire village and people are slaughtered due to the people’s obsession with pearls and pearls were created from merfolk’s tears. During this uncertain period, our heroine is taken in by the hero who is a powerful official of the imperial court, and she disguises as a male disciple by his side. Mandarin Playlist Suggestions

I love listening to music from around the world, especially music in a language I’m trying to learn. In the past couple years that I’ve been studying Mandarin and watching Chinese dramas, I’ve been slowly building a list of various Mandarin language songs and artists I enjoy. Since I haven’t had too many shows to write about lately, I thought I’d share some of my faves on my playlist. And to make it extra challenging, I picked songs that were not from dramas I’d watched.

Discussion Post: What did you think of the Age of Legends finale and series?

Since I did a Review post for Age of Legends as the show was starting up, I thought I’d add a Discussion Post now that the series finished up this week. Judging from various comments and chats I’ve seen, it seems like there were quite a few of you watching it who didn’t realise anyone else was and others who were thinking of watching, but weren’t sure if you should commit the time. I really enjoyed it, but wanted to see what you thought about it.

So what did you think of the show? What did you like about it? What did you wish had been done better? Would you recommend it for others and why? Is William Chan the next big action star? How did you like his work on this series compared to his past work? Are you looking forward to his next series, Dancing in the Storm? Who else stood out for you in this series?
