Wetv describes the plot: Stay-at-home mother, Hui Xing Shen (Bai Bai He), was a top student in university. After getting married, she chose to take care of her husband and kid, managing a family with her talents. Jiang Chuan Sheng (Tong Da Wei) is her husband. His work was too busy to have time to take care of his wife and daughter. Therefore, the responsibility of the whole family fell on her shoulder. As their daughter got older and older, Hui Xing Shen felt that it was the time to return to the workplace, but her company was a rival of the company where Jiang Chuan Sheng worked. After entering the workplace, she asked her husband to share more family responsibilities, which led to continuous conflicts. An accident magnified the rift between them and triggered a divorce war. After that, Hui Xing Shen gradually regained recognition in the workplace. Jiang Chuan Sheng also understood his wife when he spent time with his daughter. They two gradually regained their love for each other. The young couple grew up in workplace confrontations and emotional collisions and finally learned to face their families and careers in a more mature way. They chose to trust each other, grow up hand in hand, fight in their careers, and share familial responsibilities together.
Sounds like a mature drama. Raising a child and keeping the house clean is joint effort!
See You Again (再见那一天) is an upcoming drama with a heavier topic. Our male lead played by Li Guang Jie accidentally kills someone while on the mission to kill/hurt his sister’s assaulter and is then sentenced to life imprisonment. The only friend who comes to visit him is police officer played by Hu Jun and because of his good behavior, he’s released from prison early. Life during and after prison proves hard to a man with a tainted past but our male lead is lucky and finds himself working for a funeral shop owner, who also has a checkered past. A little light and humanity shine on our group of friends.
Sorry for the lack of updates guys! Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving or week wherever you are. Below are 6 more dramas to add to your list of November premieres. This is not even the end yet… Lol.
Here’s a long compilation of teasers and trailers released at various events this past week such as the iQiYi iJoy and Tencent video conference. Sorry, I can’t physically make 20+ separate posts for each of them. I think I have written about the majority before so it’s nothing new. Just a peek from different online platforms for what’s coming up next for them.
Living Toward the Sun (向阳而生) is the drama remake of 2015’s film Go Away Mr. Tumor, which was based on the real life of comic book artist Xiong Dun, who after her cancer diagnosis with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, documented her experience and treatments in a web comic which later became a success in China. She passed away in 2012.
I did not expect that in my lifetime there would be a global pandemic happening. It is – still is, very tough. Working in a major hospital, I was very fortunate to have a job through Covid but there were definitely some selfish moments where I just wanted to stay home and stay away from the hospital, where protocols and procedures keep changing every single day as we learned more things about the virus. Colleagues falling sick and hospital dispatching some of us to different areas, sometimes unrelated to our job; some smaller hospitals were sending my co-workers to work at the morgue. >.<”
I don’t know what to expect from these dramas but maybe all we need is a little thing called hope to keep us moving forward. Having this blog and some of you guys to chat with has always been the anchor of my sanity. So thank-you for that! Stay healthy, stay informed, stay connected, and stay calm! We are in this together.
This is gonna be trailers galore folks. I’m serious. Both Qiyi and HNTV had their quarterly event the past two days and had been showing off their next batch of dramas to screen! Plus, just a few more dramas for October ~~
Long gone are the days I can focus on one drama per post. xD
