After four months of filming, modern drama, Mr. Right (恋爱先生), with Jin Dong and Maggie Jiang has come to a wrap. Everyone is so cute behind-the-screen and it looks like a feel-good environment to work in. The story follows three men as they find their significant other. Jin Dong plays a dentist, who on his free time likes to give advice on how to pursue women. Ironically, he hasn’t been in love before. HA! Maggie Jiang‘s character has been hurt in love before, hence is wary of men. The two individuals clash at a dental visit and continue to war their beliefs against each other, leading to a hilarious love story. *excited*
Dang, no place for young kids in this drama! An adult show about middle-aged women and their struggles in society. In The First Half of My Life (我的前半生), Ma Yi Li plays a married housewife in her mid thirties and her life turns upside down when her husband wants a divorce. She doesn’t have any work experience and to top it off, she also has a young kid to support, what will life be like for her? In comes Jin Dong‘s character, a perfect gentleman, a businessman who recently return to Shanghai to manage his business. He’s a busy man with a quality lifestyle and after meeting her, he’s thrown into her messy life. Both of their lives have been peaceful and calm, how will a fateful meeting challenge and reward them in the latter half of their lives?
I waited to publish this post, hoping the press conference (today!) would drop a trailer! But nothing! Na-da! WHAA? It’s airing next week!
Mr. Right (恋爱先生) is the second installment in the Gentlemen series, after To Be A Better Man, starring Jin Dong (Surgeons) and Maggie Jiang (who was also in To be A Better Man). It would be hilarious if she were to be the female lead in all the following series and got courted by the most gentlemen of them all. Heh.
