Hope everyone had a peaceful Lunar New Year! I was busy taking a recovering-from-multiple-viruses toddler to visit the relatives. You really don’t know how life will change with kids until it hits you in the face point-blank. Haven’t had time to browse the web much! Both dramas finished filming this past week and I’m intrigued seeing Bai Yu in historical costumes! I have a soft spot for this man. <3

Sorry for the lack of updates, so here is a huge batch of news! Productions that are stingy and only released a poster didn’t make it into this post. Lol. 😀
Family drama The Bond led by Bai Yu, Mao Xiao Tong, Song Zu Er, and Zhang Wan Yi
The Bond (乔家的儿女) is an urban drama adapted from the novel written by Wei Xi. Bai Yu plays older brother to Mao Xiao Tong, Song Zu Er, Zhang Wan Yi, and Zhou Yi Ran. The story follows their unchanging bond through hardships and challenges after their mother passed away, and they are left with a good-for-nothing father, played by Liu Jun. It spans 30 years.
I see a few familiar faces from the The Story of Ming Lan (same production company, Daylight Entertainment). The spineless, dimpled father, the straightforward first wife, and one of the sisters too!
Airing 8/17~
First stills for The Wind Blows From Longxi as it wraps up filming with Chen Kun, Bai Yu, Angelababy, and Sun Yi
The Wind Blows From Longxi (风起陇西) is an upcoming historical drama based on the novel written by Ma Bo Yong (Longest Day in Chang’an). Casting includes Chen Kun, Bai Yu, Angelababy, Sun Yi, Nie Yuan, Yin Zhu Sheng, Yu Hao Ming, Zhang Xiao Chen, and more, boasting some guest roles from Dong Zi Jian, Lei Jia Yin, and Guo Jing Fei. Reading the synopsis, I’m left quite confused by the double and triple agents status of the cast. It is set during the Three Kingdoms period when the Shu defeated the Wei using their powerful crossbows. Chen Kun plays Chen Gong, a spy/double agent hiding in the Wei State; when the Shu receives some false reports from Chen Gong, they send another spy to investigate him, and he’s Xun Xu (played by Bai Yu). Turns out, there’s another spy named Zhu Long in the Shu kingdom who has been secretly swapping out Chen Gong’s reports. Chen Gong and Xun Xu work together to expose his identity and secure peace in their homeland.
The drama wrapped up about a week ago.
