Chinese Remake of Midnight Diner drops emotionally stirring trailer
The Chinese remake of Jdrama Shinya Shokudo, which was also based on a Japanese manga series by Yarō Abe has finally let us peek inside its characters and their moving stories. It’s rare to have a modern Cdrama trailer that is this quiet and yet still effective in stirring one’s emotions. Huang Lei leads extensive cast in remake of Midnight Diner
Midnight Diner (深夜食堂) is the Chinese remake of Jdrama Shinya Shokudo, which was also based on a Japanese manga series by Yarō Abe. The story follows a mysterious chef and his late night diner open from midnight to dawn, featuring ordinary stories from his patrons every night as they chatter and eat the one requested dish. Various stars from both China and Taiwan will be making an appearance including Mark Zhao, He Jiong, Janine Chang, Hu Bing Qing, etc.

11-minuter Trailer for Chen Xiao’s Mr. Delicious Miss Match
I know Chen Xiao is a busy man this month (wedding and baby), but I really hope to see his handsome face on my small screen again! With still no air date in sight, his latest modern rom-com, Mr. Delicious Miss Match (火柴小姐和美味先生) with Ivy Chen revealed a long trailer the other day to whet your appetite (uploaded it at the end). And like all your modern trailers, we have half rom-com, followed by half melo. But I kinda just let my ears enjoy their real voices. Hee!

Aww, they look really cute (still can’t believe Ivy Chen is 33!) But I don’t think Chen Xiao has much luck with modern dramas, seeing how his previous two – Love & Life & Lie and Above the Clouds are yet to be released. Maybe third time the charm? Mr. Delicious Miss Match (火柴小姐和美味先生) is a modern drama about… cooking! Yay! A different subject! Filming started in late December and wrapped up a few days ago, dropping some official stills.
