Winter Begonia with Huang Xiao Ming, Charmaine Sheh, and Yin Zheng gears up promos

Yumama never let a trendy topic to slip by without dipping his toes! Winter Begonia (鬓边不是海棠红) is adapted from the novel written by Shui Ru Tian Er about the love story between a patriotic businessman and a talented opera performer, but in the drama version, they are close friends. Huang Xiao Ming plays the savvy businessman and Yin Zheng plays the opera performer, with Charmaine Sheh in the role of Ming’s wife. With the Japanese invasion in 1937, people from various arts and backgrounds gather together to protect the country and preserve the growing of arts.

I like how they keep releasing promos without a date. xD

Oopsie, another danmei novel turned drama and became a bromance drama instead. Winter Begonia (鬓边不是海棠红) is adapted from the novel written by Shui Ru Tian Er about the love story between a patriotic businessman and a talented opera performer, but in the drama version, they are close friends. Fan Bing Bing falls to the pit of hell and rises up in Win The World’s trailer

Fan Bing Bing‘s massive historical drama, Win The World (赢天下), is based on the story of a Qin Dynasty widow who was named the most successful and richest entrepreneur of the time, Widow Qing. After her husband’s death, she remained unmarried but the drama will draw out her complicated relationship with Qin Shi Huang (played by Gao Yun Xiang). Google tells me her ancestors became rich for digging “elixir” through mining. She was even once rewarded by Emperor Qin Shi Huang and considered as an older sister, and even given the title “virtuous woman.” There was mention that she even helped him built the Great Wall of China with her immense wealth. But if the trailer tells us anything, this is gonna get scandalous too. Somehow, I could never get into Fan Bing Bing’s dramas.

PEACHHHHHHH!! Lolol. Your couple is front news! hee! Everyone should love this post since it’s all about pretty and kindness! I forgot who said this quote, but doing charity only has a beginning, it never ends. There was no crazy fashion tonight, everyone looks good with what they chose and for once I’m a happy camper with Li Ying’s stylist (I’m more picky with her! xD)

The adaptation boasts a solid casting, inviting big names from both Mainland China and Taiwan. For the full list, please visit its previous post here.

Shanghai Picked Flowers led by Sheng Yi Lun, Qin Hai Lu

Upcoming republican drama, Shanghai Picked Flowers (十里洋场拾年花), has quietly began filming with Peter Sheng Yi Lun as the sole leading male and Qin Hai Lu as one of the invited female stars (this is not what you think it is, LOL). The story remains vague so far as we only know the story is set in the glamorous 1920s Shanghai, following our male lead’s transformation from a rookie reporter to a full-grown news writer, detailing the interesting lives of the female stars he meets, starting with Miss Qin Hai Lu, and making rounds (every 3 episodes) to other female stars including Siqin Gaowa, Ma Su, Chen Zi Han, and etc.

Posters for whole cast of Fan Bing Bing’s Win The World

Great details and contrast in the the costumes but the plain-jane hair on the ladies surprised me a little, especially on the younger ones. The older ladies have fantastic hair.

I almost lost an eye getting all the names down! Lol.
