Yang Rong, Hawick Lau’s The Legend of Flying Daggers to air

Good or bad news… With Hawick Lau‘s scandal still lingering, I feel bad for Yang Rong and the whole cast ensemble. Legend of the Flying Daggers is the fifth and final installment to Gu Long‘s Little Li Flying Dagger series. FYI, Zhu Yi Long’s Border Town Prodigal is the third installment. The novel follows Li Huai, Li Xun Huan’s grandson, as he wanders in jianghu to help the poor and uphold justice using his grandfather’s Little Li Dagger technique. How I wish Hawick could use those little daggers in real life and cut off the scandalous tail he has acquired for himself. Spare us and Yang Mi the pain. Lol.

Zhang Tian Ai and Yan Kuan up for The World of Dogu

Oh My Lord. Isn’t that this year’s hottest pairing or what?! Weibo is buzzing with news about their possible collaboration for the upcoming period piece The World of Dogu (独孤天下), following the story of Dugu Qieluo, known as Empress Wenxian (文獻皇后) of the Chinese Sui dynasty, wife to Emperor Wen. I read their story on Wiki and was immediately impressed since Emperor Wen was one of the few Emperors with the least number of concubines or at all (at least while his wife was still alive.) They married young, she was 13 and he was 16, and he swore an oath to not have any other woman bear him children (ah, so romantic!)

Both of them have such amazing, intense eyes, that I can’t wait to be drilled by them. LOL.

Official First Trailer for Legend of Ravaging Dynasties

Finally a real trailer instead of the constant behind-the-scene works. Don’t get me wrong, I like those too, but I also want to see some real action and concrete work. It’s definitely a very refreshing concept (motion captioning) for China to tackle, and let’s hope it opens doors for more creative storytelling!

Legend of Ravaging Dynasties puts everyone in Mo-cap suits

Mo-Cap, short for Motion capture, is process of recording the movement of objects or people. Movies you see like Avatar and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes used the same technology to provide very life-like performances by animated characters. Legend of Ravaging Dynasties (L.O.R.D) is a movie written and directed by Guo Jing Ming (Ice Fantasy, Tiny Times) about the war to gain absolute power and control among the four kingdoms. Yep, that is all I know. X)
