I’m back, after disappearing only a week into these posts~. One of the things you’ll learn about me, is my lack of consistency, but to make up for the absence I’ve hand picked more than I should have for this week. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
Join us on Discord for more photoshoots, since Kappy was very logical in her approach that sharing more would not be a treat for everyone’s bandwidth.
The Eight (民初奇人传) is an iQiyi original webdrama produced by film director Chen Kai Ge. It follows our hero, played by Oho Ou Hao, as he tumbles into the underbelly of the criminal world while trying to save China’s independence against external forces. The title The Eight represents different martial artists of jianghu in charge of guarding an ancient treasure.
Sometimes, I would see an image of Godfrey and my fingers would move to weibo to check what’s going with him, then I would realize he’s no longer with us. We Are All Alone (怪你过分美丽) is his last drama and it’s based on a novel written by Wei Zai. I thought it’s a little bit ironic how the drama is about actors and the entertainment circle. Our heroine played by Qin Lan is a strict and successful agent, while Godfrey is a lawyer. The trailers raise up a lot of interesting issues, especially roles that older actresses are limited to – involving the talented Kara Hui no less! It is a cutthroat occupation. You need the right combination of timing, luck, and hard work to shine and stay shining.
Lol. I’m dying at the implication of this whole Qing drama. With Zhou Xun and Wallace Huo‘s palace drama, Ru Yi, set to draw in viewers, Yu Zheng can’t sit still and let the opportunity pass by his head. He’s producing his own Qing drama, tentatively called Yan Xi’s Conquest(延禧攻略) and inviting some big stars (Qin Lan, Charmaine Sheh, and Nie Yuan) to lay foundation while having his own actress Wu Jin Yan (Zhao Ge) in the leading role. If you have watched Princess Pearls (Huan Zhu Ge Ge), you would recognize the three female characters. HA!
