Whispers of Fate takes Luo Yun Xi’s beauty to the next level, alongside Lin Yun, Chen Yao, and Xiao Shun Yao

Whispers of Fate (水龙吟) is adapted from the novel written by Teng Ping.

Synopsis per Viki: When an influential but fearsome clan is massacred in mysterious circumstances, the clan’s talented disciple Tang Li Ci (Luo Yun Xi) finds himself accused of masterminding the crime. Accusers say that Li Ci is a traitor who murdered his master. A decade later, suspicions about Li Ci linger, but much darker forces are conspiring to unleash chaos into the realm. Torn by his duality and his apparent inability to distinguish between good and evil, Li Ci finds himself drawn back into the wider world to help defeat the evil conspiracy – armed only with his wits and his martial arts skills. His path soon crosses with former acquaintances, with some swearing enmity and others allied to his cause. Can he and his companions help defeat the forces of wickedness – or will his dual nature prove his undoing?

New stills released for fantasy drama Liao Zhai with Zhang Miao Yi and Chang Hua Sen as it wraps up filming

Liao Zhai (聊斋) is adapted from the classical Chinese stories collection Liao Zhai Zhi Yi by Pu Song Ling. My version of Liao Zhai was from TVB’s Dark Tales 1 and 2 in the 1990s. Lol.

From TMDB, the synopsis: A mysterious beauty’s severed head appears in the bustling marketplace. A fox spirit, trapped in the treacherous depths of human desire, struggles to escape her fate. When the Judge of the Underworld descends to swap heads and hearts, chaos erupts. A paper doll awakens to life with the final stroke of a brush, a wooden puppet grows a beating heart, and a withered tree stirs with forbidden longing. In this world where the boundaries between flesh and fantasy blur, ancient magic and human folly collide—revealing that even the most lifeless things may hunger for a soul.

This version will adapt 6 stories from the collection.

William Chan, Zeng Shun Xi, and Chen Yao confirmed for republican drama The Treasured Bajia Book (The Mystic Nine 2)

The Treasured Bajia Book (九门) is adapted from the novel Old Nine Gates (老九门) written by Kennedy Xu. If you remember, there’s a drama adaptation in 2016 with William and Lay Zhang called The Mystic Nine (prequel to The Lost Tomb). This can be considered as part 2 with William reprising the same role as Zhang Qi Shan aka Fo Ye. Zeng Shun Xi will be playing Wu Lao Guo, Wu Xie’s grandfather (Wu Xie is the main character in The Lost Tomb series franchise). And yes, Shun Xi has played Wu Xie before. hehe. Chen Yao plays Hu Xian Gu, the only female member of the nine legendary grave-robbing families in Changsha.

Filming began 5/31! There’s a rumor of Li Ying playing a cameo as Fo Ye’s adorable wife and I really hope it’s true. They have insane chemistry!

Whispers of Fate with Luo Yun Xi, Xiao Shun Yao, and Lin Yun drops new promotional materials

Whispers of Fate (水龙吟) is adapted from the novel written by Teng Ping. It has your usual flair of wuxia dramas; good vs evil, with a male lead described as neither evil nor good; morally ambiguous. He gets entangled in a murder which is part of a larger conspiracy to bring down the wuxia world.

This is a the drama where the male lead gets all the beauty treatments – overwhelming both of his female counterparts. Lol.

Luo Yun Xi and Song Yi in costume romance Follow Your Heart

Follow Your Heart (颜心记) portrays the destined romantic tale of the cold and aloof Prince Jiang Xinbai (played by Luo Yunxi), who suffers from prosopagnosia/face blindness, and the spirited female physician Yan Nanxing (played by Song Yi), who transforms (her appearance) each month. Together, they embark on a journey through love and adventure, uncovering their fated bond in the martial world. The story also follows their strong and solitary characters as they overcome numerous obstacles to uphold justice, offering viewers a glimpse into the true essence of love. While external appearances matter, this drama underscores the importance of a heart-to-heart connection. Love isn’t about possession or conquest; being “captivated by love” isn’t merely focused on superficial attributes. True love transcends appearances, social status, grudges, and other external factors. It perseveres in pursuing justice and willingly assumes a lifelong responsibility for that love, even extending to safeguarding the world. [Per Qiyi]
