Another round of productions booting up and wrapping up filming!

These posts! BAHHH! I mostly focus on trailers being released, so if a drama doesn’t have any video, I would usually include a poster.
PLEASE NOTE: Post may take a few extra seconds to load all the videos.

Our Generation (樱桃琥珀) is adapted from the novel written by Yun Zhu. Set in the 1990s, the story follows our female lead, a bright and beloved child of her parents, who grew up in warmth and care of everyone around her. Her life takes on an interesting turn when she meets a transfer student in our male lead. He’s extraordinary in studies but is cold and aloof, very quiet and keeps to himself. Obviously, unlike our bubbly female lead, our hero grows up being seen and treated as a replacement for his deceased elder brother. She’s described as a small flame, slowly warming him up, allowing him to step into their social circle; build memories, laugh, make friends, until his unexpected departure. But of course, like all youth dramas, this group of friends shall meet again.
Looking so sweet in their second drama together (After The Princess Royal)!
Airing 7/14~

Overdo (这一秒过火) is adapted from the novel written Fei Wo Si Cun. Looks like beside borrowing the male and female lead’s names, the story has been changed significantly enough that novel fans call this almost like an original script. Lol. I guess that could be a good thing since the author FWSC is called a stepmother in the novel world for a reason. It follows the ups and downs of our couple. In Shanghai, two families of warlords (Murong and Li) are at odds and they accidentally take the wrong child home. While the Li son is doted on, our male lead, the second son of the Murong family, grows up abused by the Li family. When the mistaken identity is revealed, teenage male lead tries to escape but is thrown overboard and saved by our female lead. However, that ends in her family’s demise. When the two meet again, an accident happens and our FL fakes her death under his own hands. Our male lead then sinks into despair for three years, unable to sleep or forget about her, until they meet again (!!) and she’s introduced as his brother’s future bride. Dun, Dun, Dun! Secrets of the past crawl back to haunt them with bigger enemies lining the present, what’s gonna happen to our couple?
What an insane level of visual in this OTP! Wang Chu Ran has the advantage of looking like a classic beauty with a gentle coldness simmering underneath so I’m excited to see how she brings forth the fire of her intelligent and cunning character. As for Zhang Ling He, what is new. He’s been a gorgeous specimen since the beginning and now ya’ll gonna make him wear a uniform in a republican drama? My, my, my! 😍😍😍

Probably my most anticipated costume drama! The two leads are so cute together. They slay that high-ponytail look perfectly!
Zhu Yu // Chasing Jade (逐玉) is adapted from the novel written by Tuan Zi Lai Xi. The story follows our female lead after she lost her parents. In order to secure her inheritance from the greedy relatives, she takes in a wounded man as husband. She doesn’t know much about him except for his striking good looks. They agree that once everything is settled, they would divorce. However, war breaks out and he’s enlisted. He disappears without a trace. They meet again when he’s injured in a tent. Teary-eyed, she tells him to stop being a soldier and she will continue to support him, taking back their divorce agreement. Turns out, our handsome unknown man is a strict marquis who rules the battlefields ruthlessly. Now he spends his days recuperating in a tent for the wounded, making his soldiers confused. He jumps up when he learns that his “wife” has taken his uniform and went to war in his place! Heeheee, this sounds so sweet! I can’t wait to continue reading it! But please expect deviations from the novel, as always.
You can read the ongoing English translation at Gravity Tales by Sheepadu. Huge thanks!!

The Best Thing (爱你) is adapted from the novel Loving You is the Best Thing I Have Done written by Sheng Li. It’s a short and sweet novel.
Per Qiyi: The story follows Shen Xifan, a dedicated workaholic and hotel housekeeping manager, who suffers from insomnia and migraines due to her high-intensity job. Seeking relief, she turns to traditional Chinese medicine and meets the gentle and refined doctor, He Suye. However, her busy schedule often causes her to forget to pick up her prescriptions, much to He Suye’s frustration. What starts as a mere doctor-patient relationship takes an unexpected turn when they realize they live in the same neighborhood. Through a series of chance encounters, their feelings gradually blossom. Having experienced a painful first love, Shen Xifan is cautious, while He Suye, abandoned by his first love, has since closed off his heart. As Shen Xifan slowly approaches him, their awkward yet endearing interactions lead He Suye to rediscover the meaning of love, eventually making him the one to pursue her instead. Meanwhile, He Suye’s dedication to traditional Chinese medicine inspires Shen Xifan to find her true aspirations.

I am a migraine and insomnia sufferer too so it makes sense for me to check this out on that reason alone!! 😛

After all the hees and haws, my wish came true eventually! What a visual feast these two are together! 😍😍😍
