Back From the Brink with Hou Ming Hao and Zhou Ye finally premieres in May
Sorry for the lack of updates these past two weeks. Was sick like a dog. =/
Back From the Brink (护心) is adapted from the novel Heart Protection written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. The story follows our female lead, who was supposed to die long ago but was saved thanks to the “heart protection” scales (I don’t know how to translate that, Lol) and energy pearl from an ancient dragon demon. She’s then luckily accepted as a disciple at Chen Xing Mountain under her shifu – Daoist Priest, Ling Xiao, to cultivate. However, she stirs up some troubles and is then expelled from the sect (the beginning of the novel). Looks like there’s some feelings between disciple and shifu too. Now without a home, our female wanders jianghu and is kidnapped to be someone’s bride. That someone is the ancient dragon demon whose body was dismembered by his previous lover (oucchhh!). He immediately recognizes his important jewels in her body. He pleads for her help and she reluctantly gives in, and together, they travel around to look for his body parts, hoping to make it whole again before the big day comes – a war between the immortals and demons (and a revenge!). What will happen if the return of his whole body means taking away the things keeping her alive?
Angsty!

Guan Xiao Tong and Hou Ming Hao kick up the comedy in I’m Just That Type of Girl (A Girl Like Me)
I’m Just That Type of Girl (我就是这般女子) is a costume comedy drama based on the novel written by Yue Xia Die Ying starring Guan Xiao Tong and Hou Ming Hao as leads. The story follows our outgoing and straightforward heroine who has been unlucky in three proposed marriages. In her latest rejection, she has seen it before in a dream. And when the dream becomes true, she begins to question her other dreams, one of which puts her ill at ease because it involves her father losing his noble title and the family falling to difficult times. What cracks me up is her family’s reaction to her dream….. they want to hide their gold in the mountains. 😂 Her family and their dynamics seem to be the highlight of this drama too, which is lovely! Our male lead is handsome and talented, described as someone who is always scheming, you’re either useful or useless in his eyes. Except for the female lead and her family. Gosh. That sounds super sweet. Looks like we have another greasy male lead, the things he says to her!! Lol. He’s out on a mission to find the culprit behind his family’s demise.
Begins airing 1/18 ~
