Mysterious Lotus Casebook with Cheng Yi, Zeng Shun Xi, and Xiao Shun Yao has wrapped up filming

Mysterious Lotus Casebook (莲花楼) is adapted from the novel written by Teng Ping. It follows the story of a popular doctor in the pugilistic world, Li Lian Hua (Cheng Yi), who in reality has no medical skills. Lol. What initially happened was he stumbled upon two people buried alive (still alive) and news spread that he was able to raise them from the dead. So who is Li Lian Hua really? Ten years ago, he was Li Xiang Yi, the famous Sect Leader of a righteous sect, who disappeared and assumed dead after a fierce battle with his arch enemy from the evil sects, Di Fei Sheng (Xiao Shun Yao). Xiang Yi was poisoned by his own people and fell into the ocean, disappearing on the face of earth. Now he travels around jianghu with a new name/persona, being pulled in by every murder possible and trying to solve them. Zeng Shun Xi plays a young aspiring hero, Lian Hua’s best friend, who is also the biggest fanboy of Li Xiang Yi but he of course doesn’t know Lian Hua is Xiang Yi. Di Fei Sheng eventually comes out of his hiatus as well and is the first person to recognize that the stingy and money-loving fake doc is actually the high and almighty Li Xiang Yi!

The three boys forge a friendship unlike any other. This sounds wicked adorable!

Yang Zi and Cheng Yi’s Immortal Samsara suddenly drops like a hot potato today!

Imagine my surprise when I came home from work to a community of rejoicing fans, all excited to see Cheng Yi suffering beautifully again when his drama, Immortal Samsara, with Yang Zi suddenly announces it’s airing tonight! Lolol.

The novel is currently being translated by a sweet and stressed-out high school teenager (Lol, so cute), Rosie @ her blog. Fighting!

I have written spoilers for the novel before in my previous posts, but knowing how novel-to-drama adaptations go, not sure how much of the original story is still left. *shrugs* Happy watching!

Cheng Yi and Zhang Yu Xi’s The Promise of Chang’an changes name to Yu Jun Ge ahead of broadcast

Why do these names sound familiar…. Lol.

Can someone save Cheng Yi? He’s been stuck in Chang An since foreeeeveer!

From Meng Xing Chang An/The Promise of Chang’an (梦醒长安), the name has been changed to Yu Jun Ge (与君歌). It is based on the novel written by Zi Fei Hua and follows the story of two sisters, played by Zhang Yu Xi and Xuan Lu, who were ripped apart by politics when they were younger, and reunited on opposing sides as adults. The story is set during the Tang Dynasty under Emperor Wenzong’s rule where powerful eunuchs run the court. He and other government officials plan to get rid of Eunuch Chou Shi Liang (Mickey He) but their plan failed, leading to the execution of prime minister Wang Ya’s family, leaving only two surviving granddaughters. They are separated and raised by different camps, meeting seven years later, when the new Emperor (Cheng Yi) launches the two camps against each other.

First Trailer and Stills for Agarwood Like Crumbs with Yang Zi and Cheng Yi

The Legend of Chusen‘s Lu Xue Qi and Lin Jing Yu reunited in a new drama, adapted from Su Mo’s novel, Agarwood Like Bread Crumbs (沉香如屑).

Copied and pasted from my last post: The story sounds quite tragic too with the past, present, and future intertwining. The story follows our female lead, Yan Dan (Yang Zi), who is a lotus flower fairy; her “owner”, Yu Mo, is a fish who has cultivated for many years. The two travel around to many places, consuming evil, weak souls to nourish their power/bodies and calling it “doing one good deed a day”. However, one day, they encounter a Taoist Master, Tang Zhou (Cheng Yi), whose goal is to eliminate the evils of this world and protect the humans. The three travel together to find four ancient artifacts which leads to the discovery of their twisted past together – 800 years ago. Our female lead was an exotic four-leaf flower (not sure how to describe her…Lol) in heaven who also had a twin sister. Her body was considered extraordinary herbs with great healing powers. Yan Dan fell in love with the god of war, Ying Yuan, who was terribly injured during the battle with the demons and lost his eyesight. To heal him, she willingly gave up her petals, and even half her heart to cure his eyes. Alas, once he could see again, he didn’t appear to remember her…. To forget him, she gave up her immortality and just like that 800 years went by. Her fish friend escaped heaven to search for her and the two share 20 years of peace together.

800 years later, she meets Tang Zhou, who turns out to be Ying Yuan’s reincarnation. Ha. There’s a lovely twist to this story as you have to figure out the REAL male lead. There’s another guy who’s a god too but he comes and goes.
