The Last Immortal (Shen Yin, 神隐) is adapted from the novel written by Xing Ling. It’s the sequel to Ancient Love Poetry with Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu. Male lead, Yuan Qi (Wang An Yu) is their son. Our heroine, A Yin (Zhao Lu Si), has reincarnated for the 27th time. Each time she dies, she would remember all her past lives and stew about her early-death fate in each reincarnation. Upon reaching the Nai He Bridge to get justice for her constant bad luck, she’s told there are two possible explanations: 1) She has offended a big figure in the God Realm, or 2) She’s the Big Figure herself.
I haven’t had time to check out the novel so… if you know spoilers, let me know. hehe.
Hidden Love (偷偷藏不住) is adapted from the novel written by Zhu Yi. Going through the novel reviews, it looks like a sweet romance. Our heroine has frequent parents meeting and in order to avoid troubles, she enlists the help of her older brother but since they are like cat-and-dog, she turns to her brother’s friend (our male lead) instead. From then on, they become friends but he only looks at her like a younger sister. And he should because he’s 7 years older than her (not sure about the drama). He’s a university student and she’s a middle school girl harboring a small crush on this new friend. BUT their romance doesn’t start until she becomes a college student in the city he’s in. Phew.
Adapted from the novel written by Qing Ling Yue. For the extensive spoilers of novel, please head over to one of our prior posts written by Iridescent here. Are you excited? Cause I am! I know Lu Si is the quite adorable in romcom and she https://www.viagrageneric.org/ has done many projects with bubbly female characters so it’s nice to see her in a serious role! Love the hairstyles they gave her in here. *pleasebegoodpleasebegood*
Tencent describes the drama briefly: A legendary wuxia romance that focuses on the decade-long romance between Hei Feng Xi and Bai Feng Xi, and the adventures they embark on together.
Hou Lang (后浪) is an upcoming drama with Zhao Lu Si and Luo Yi Zhou. It focuses on Chinese traditional medicine. Our heroine is in her twenties and lives a lonely life without her parents. She has no care for the past or the future. In an incident where she speaks up for the troubled, she’s aided by a professor of Chinese Medicine (Wu Gang) who later learns of her background and takes her under his wings. She starts anew and becomes a student in his Chinese medicine course, where his son (Luo Yi Zhou) constantly collides with her. Under the Professor’s guidance, the students find a new direction in their lives and the Professor also comes up with new ideas.
I had to do research on Luo Yi Zhou because I did not recognize him. He’s part of boy band IXFORM which was formed after Youth With You 3. I have seen some clips of his dancing, which is really good. Acting-wise, he’s in Central Academy of Drama Class of 2018, alongside of Jackson Yee, Hu Xian Xu (Hikaru no Go), and Li Lan Di. He’s brand new so good luck to him! Scoring a fun-loving partner like Lu Si and a veteran acting powerhouse in Wu Gang is a pretty sweet deal.
Love Like The Galaxy (星汉灿烂) is adapted from the novel written by Guan Xin Ze Luan (the same author for The Story of Ming Lan). There’s a time-traveling element in the novel which I’m sure will be changed. Our heroine in the modern world grew up in a divorced family; she lives with her grandma, making her quite wild and unruly, she does what she wants. On chance, she time-travels to the past and becomes the youngest daughter of a General’s family. Due to war, her parents are constantly in battle, bringing along her three older brothers for years, leaving her behind with her grandma. When they finally return, years of estrangement creeps in but her father and brothers dote on her. Except for her mother, who is extremely strict with her and our girl fans the fire by fighting right back. Despite mom being a tough lady, going to war, etc, she expects the opposite of her daughter – to be gentle, to be well-read (actually, she just can’t read ancient Chinese because she’s from the modern world), to be graceful. Since she’s of marriage age when they return, they become concerned that their daughter’s personality doesn’t fit in with the rich, high-ranking sons of officials, so they think it’s safer to settle for a low-ranking family. However, their troublesome daughter repeatedly meets with several high-ranking men, getting engaged and breaking the engagement several times.
A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College (国子监来了个女弟子) is adapted from the novel written by Hua Qian Ci and follows our female lead – daughter of a high-ranking official as she accepts a bet to make the most popular young master (our male lead – Xu Kai Cheng) in town to accept her invitation to the lantern festival. If she loses, she’s to become a performer during the festival. What she thinks is an easy task turns out to be much more challenging. She is turned away each time she tries to visit the Yan’s manor. With her father’s insistence, the Emperor grants her permission to become the first female disciple of the Imperial College, where our male lead is currently attending. She, along with her childhood best friend (played by Ren Hao), set out to turn the prestigious academy upside down.
Lu Si looks so cute I might give this a try. XD Light & fluffy~
