Historical drama Qiao Chu with Chen Du Ling and Zhou Yi Ran wrapped up filming

Qiao Chu (翘楚) is adapted from the novel Chu Hou written by by Xi Xing. Why is the plot for all these costume dramas starting to merge for me? Our female lead is a general’s daughter, she’s set on changing her fate from being a pawn in the political game. She meets and brightens up the lonely life of our male lead, helping him rise the ranks from a mere imperial guard to a great general. Together they save millions of people from war and remove the threats to their country.

New Promotional Trailers and Posters for Upcoming Cdramas at the 2024 iQIYI iJOY Conference

I haven’t said this line in a while but I almost lost an eyeball trying to compile this post. Lol. I guess Qiyi has the majority of my interested dramas. Hope ya’ll find this helpful. I tried to include as much as possible but will eliminate non-human/concept posters for my sanity. If I missed anything, feel free to help me out in the comments! XD

Happy scrolling!

BL novel Seizing Dreams (Duo Meng) begins filming with Bi Wen Jun and Wang Rui Chang

Aha! The reunion of besties from In A Class of Her Own (remake of Sungkyunkwan Scandal, so they are the SJK & YAI of the Chinese adaptation) for a BL novel-turned-drama adaptation. Original novel is written by Fei Tian Ye Xiang. I took a look at the synopsis and would like to describe it as an uplifting relief for one’s soul from the harsh reality through their dreams. The story begins with one of our male leads, Yu Hao (played by Bi Wen Jun), a hard-working college student accused of stealing a watch from a family (he’s tutoring the little girl.) We don’t know much about him yet, but a quick introduction tells us he grew up under sad circumstances. For whatever reason, his parents left him when he was younger and his sole guardian – his grandmother, died shortly after his college entrance exam. And now he’s accused of thievery. At wits’ end, he wants to end his life and misery. At that point, he meets the other male lead, known as the “General” (played by Wang Rui Chang) who advises and guides him in his dream to retrieve his totem (a shield). And that’s how the drama works. A dreamer is saved when he/she finds his totem in the dream, leading to resolutions to the problems of reality. BTW, the “General” has another identity. 😉

You can read the translated novel @ Chicken Gege.

First Impression: What do you think of In A Class of Her Own with Ju Jing Yi and Song Wei Long?

If it’s not obvious, In A Class of Her Own (云上学堂) is the Chinese remake of a very popular Korean drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal in 2010! I did watch and enjoy the original, the quartet had oozing chemistry, buoyed by solid acting performances.

Let me know what you think of the remake! You get 2 episodes every Thur-Sat. VIP folks get 6 episodes in advance.
