Zhang Jia Ning protects Qu Chu Xiao in new fantasy youth series Shining For One Thing

Qiyi describes the plot: Lin Beixing (Zhang Jia Ning), an “experienced girl” who is about to enter her 30s, missed out on achieving her dream of love as her boyfriend, Zhan Yu (Wu Xi Ze), breaks the contract, and her life and work have become a mess. However, not sure if this is the God playing tricks on her, Lin Beixing returned to the age of eighteen. The third year of high school is a nightmare, but Lin Beixing decided to retake the college entrance examination and get rid of Zhanyu, to live anew for herself. However, Lin Beixing’s sweet dream was dashed by a boy called Zhang Wansen (Qu Chu Xiao). The accidental encounter of Zhang Wansen after the college entrance examination became the switch to end Lin Beixing’s time and space journey. Lin Beixing began to investigate the cause of Zhang Wansen’s death and embarked on a difficult journey to save Zhang Wansen. The days in high school were romantic and short, and Lin Beixing’s changes allowed her to reap the beautiful moments that she had neglected. With the arrival of summer, Lin Beixing also found that she not only saved Zhang Wansen, but also saved the boy’s love for her since she was young that is deeper than the sea.

This looks adorable and might just be heart-breaking if the story is tight.

Qu Chu Xiao and Chen Yu Qi protect cultural treasures in Mystery of Antiques 3

Mystery of Antiques 3 (古董局中局之掠宝清单) is the third part following 2018’s Mystery of Antiques, 2020’s Antique Bureau Midgame, all based on Ma Bo Yong’s novel series, The Game of Antiques.

WeTV provides the synopsis: “In 1928, an evil wind swept Beijing City. In the name of birthday celebration, the director of the police department imprisoned the big shots in the antique industry. When the Five Houses were in crisis, Xu Yi Cheng (male lead) went to great lengths and settled it. What’s worse, Chen Weili, Xu’s old friend, was murdered in the street. Before his death, Chen sent a note to Xu, on which “Wind” and “Earth” were faintly marked. Xu investigated it and surprisingly found Chen’s death concerned with the Japanese. Yu Fang, a prince of the former dynasty, confessed that Concubine Shu Shen’s tomb in Dongling was robbed, and asked Xu to help resolve the Dongling crisis. Xu sensitively realized that the Dongling crisis was related to the death of his friend Chen. For the country, to avoid China’s national treasures stolen by the enemy; in private, to uncover the truth about his friend’s death, Xu Yi Cheng, with the help of the royal descendant, Hai Lan Zhu (female lead), Liu Yi Ming from the Five House, Huang Kewu, and his friend Fu Gui, braved the Ping’an City and prevented the outflow of the treasures.”

In short, our couple is trying to protect their cultural treasures from greedy hands. xD

Discussion Post: What do you think of Bloody Romance’s Finale?

Looks like the dark horse of our summer dramas line-up is Li Yi Tong’s Bloody Romance. I have read so many good words that I’m ready to jump into the wagon; you know, when time permits! But since I did a discussion post for first impression, I thought it’s fair to make one when the series wraps up, which it did yesterday.

Give a review of the series fellow fans, what you like/dislike, what worked for/against, acting, ost, etc.

First Impression: What do you think of Li Yi Tong’s Bloody Romance?

As I have mentioned before, the promotional materials of this drama caught my attention! Bloody Romance (媚者无疆) is adapted from the novel written by Ban Ming Ban Mei and stars Li Yi Tong, Qu Chu Xiao, and Puff Kuo. Our heroine is sold to a brothel at the tender age of 16 where she’s tortured, assaulted, and treated like crap until she’s rescued and sent to a mysterious place. There she’s trained to become a top assassin!

Li Yi Tong, Qu Chu Xiao, and Puff Kuo in a Bloody Romance

Lol. I can’t stop laughing at the title, especially weird for an ancient series no less! Bloody Romance (媚者无疆) is adapted from the novel written by Ban Ming Ban Mei and stars Li Yi Tong, Qu Chu Xiao, and Puff Kuo. And why is it bloody? Cause our heroine is sold to a brothel at the tender age of 16 where she’s tortured, assaulted, and treated like crap until she’s rescued and sent to a mysterious place. There she’s trained to become a top assassin!
