Love Beyond the Grave (慕胥辞) is adapted from the novel written by Li Qing Ran. She plays a beautiful 400-year-old female ghost master who wanders battlefields to feed on human souls while he’s a mysterious young commander of the Taba Army of Daliang. Their fates intertwined that day and he agrees to share his five senses with her. Together, they fight to keep the peace the between the human and spirits realm.

Lin Jiang Xian (临江仙) is an original screenplay, produced by Yu Zheng aka Yumama. Like his previous productions, he has been teasing fans with tidbits and an abundance of stills. I kinda like that we don’t know much about the story so no comparisons like a lot of novel-to-drama adaptations these days.

Filming was completed two years ago. It follows two sisters who were separated during a rebellion and after their whole family was killed. To find the culprits behind the family’s tragedy, our heroine follows her sister into the palace after finding out she was drafted to become a royal consort. She begins her training as a chef, even impressing the Emperor, and later on picking up medical skills which was helpful during the widespread illness. During her journey, she’s aided by a handsome, loyal General in our male lead.

For a chest of gold, she decides to marry him. But everything is meant to be fake (??) but our Crown Prince has no idea he has met his life’s nemesis. The heroine’s journey of taming the arrogant Crown Prince begins! She’s described as a wild kitten into a powerful leopard. Meow!
