YAY! Both of them have been in ancient dramaland for a while now so I welcome them back to the modern world. But I did hope it was with a different storyline. Hu Yi Tian and Janice Wu were rumored for this project for a while but today the production has just confirmed the leads to be Li Xian (Tientsin Mystic) and Yang Zi (Heavy Sweetness Ash-like Frost). Go Go Squid or Stewed Squid With Honey (蜜汁炖鱿鱼) is a sweet novel written by Mo Bao Fei Bao. On the other hand, the story doesn’t seem up to their acting caliber, described as a gentle and an easy read, some comments even go as far as saying it’s forgettable after a hearty laugh, but likable characters and setups. The heroine is described as a genius 19-year old student with high IQ and low EQ, who is also a famous anime cosplay person and sings well. She’s struck by love at first sight with the male lead, who is a game genius in the e-sports world and never pays attention to the girls.

I feel like these types of story could be given to rookie actors while these two could go for more challenging roles. Who knows, maybe they need a break?
