First teasers for Chen Kun’s The Double (Tuo Shen) drama with Wan Qian
Previously known as The Escapee (脱身), and now Escape or The Double, this is Chen Kun‘s first drama comeback, before Rise of the Phoenixes. The new spy drama is an original work which is reported to have been polished for a number of years. Chen Kun plays dual roles (brothers) hence the new English name makes sense. heh. Wan Qian plays a spy disguised as a female accountant with a secret mission to protect someone important. She meets Older brother after accidentally exchanging suitcases at the train station and becomes acquaintance with him. She later finds out his younger twin brother is an important figure to protect. In times of chaos and war, could the three find true value in the meaning of love, life, and faith?

What’s the occasion? Drama The Rise of Phoenixes drops a wagon of character stills just an hour ago. We usually get like 6 or 9 stills but over 20?! Thank-you for being generous production team! The rich and dark color palette stands out. SO PRETTY!

Interviews with the Crew of Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy
Time to check back in with the epic historical fantasy drama Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy (九州海上牧云记). In the past few months, they have been releasing stills and some BTS videos with interviews with the cast and crew. Again, a lot of work and thought and effort were spent so hopefully this summer will be the green light for Prophecy.

Hah. It’s official. I’m renaming this drama. From Liang Sheng, Can We Not Be Laden With Grief (凉生我们可不可以不忧伤) to the above, which is more like it. Just a day after announcing their official cast members, the production releases a batch of stills to whet your growing appetite for the melodrama. Lol.
