Costume drama Kill Me Love Me with Liu Xue Yi, Wu Jin Yan, and Bi Wen Jun also joins October broadcast because why not

Kill Me Love Me (春花厌) is adapted from the novel written by Hei Yan. I took a look at the novel and it’s one twisted downhill ride. You can read it my quick summary here. So changes to the drama is a must to pass censorship. Lol

Synopsis per Youku: Prince Murong Jinghe of the Great Yan Dynasty led his Weibei Army to reclaim Qingzhou, a lost territory. His triumphant victory should have been a moment of glory, but soon after his army entered the city, a devastating fire broke out. Whispers spread throughout Qingzhou, accusing Murong Jinghe of harboring a grudge against the people for their alleged betrayal of Great Yan. Rumor had it that the prince, now known as the ruthless “Butcher General,” ordered the city to be burned to the ground. In the flames, a young girl named Mei Lin lost her entire family. Heartbroken and consumed by vengeance, she vowed to kill the one responsible for the massacre. She joins a secret organization known as the Shadow Works, where she undergoes years of brutal training after consuming a deadly poison that turns her into an unstoppable assassin. Mei Lin’s first mission is finally assigned: to assassinate her greatest enemy, Prince Murong Jinghe himself. Disguised as one of a hundred Xiyan beauties sent to the Great Yan as part of a political marriage alliance, she patiently waits for her chance to strike. But what Mei Lin doesn’t know is that the man who masterminded her entire assassination mission—setting her on this path of revenge—is none other than Murong Jinghe himself…

Wu Jin Yan and Hong Yao confirmed their marriage on Weibo today!

What a move Miss Wu! Announcing that she’s off the market just after her hit drama The Double and successfully warding off all potential shippers for her upcoming projects. It’s brave. Lol. Both actors are under Yu Zheng’s management and both starred together in popular drama Story of Yanxi Palace. The two have started dating in 2017 and pictures have surfaced more than once about them dating but were all shot down each time by Yu Zheng in the past. But now, they have shared their marriage photos on weibo and Yu Zheng has shared his blessings to them too. Which makes sense, if the couple is not ready to announce, it’s not his place to do anything.

In any case, congratulations to the couple! 🥰 ❣ 💓 🥰 ❣ 💓 🥰 ❣ 💓

Liu Xue Yi, Wu Jin Yan, and Bi Wen Jun look melancholy in costume drama Kill Me Love Me

Kill Me Love Me (春花厌) is adapted from the novel written by Hei Yan. I took a look at the novel and it’s one twisted downhill ride. They would have to change quite a bit for the drama cause male lead is not likable/pretty toxic and doesn’t treat the female lead nice at all cause he’s in love with another girl for over a decade, who’s also the cause of female lead’s misery. There’s a clear distinction in class (owner/servant/rich/poor) and that’s how he will treat you. From young, our heroine was raised to become an assassin in a secret organization. She has no name and is assigned the number 43. She swallows her pride, her dignity, and everything else just to survive. As it turns out, male lead runs the cruel organization…

I thought I could root for the FL but she’s so passive and accepting of every misery thrown at her that it is hard to read. LXY looks so intensely good in here since he’s a Prince who also hops on a horse and goes to war that I might take a peak. Lol. I’m not that into toxic male leads but I know they are the rage nowadays.

Wu Jin Yan and Xu Kai cook up a Royal Feast in new historical foodie drama

Royal Feast (尚食) reunites Xu Kai and Wu Jin Yan in historical foodie drama! Quite a lot of food-centered dramas lately. We follow our heroine as she enters the forbidden palace as a lowly maid in the royal kitchen and works her way up. It is set during Yongle’s years of the Ming dynasty as the emperor decides to open up the food bureau for female recruits. Our female lead is accepted, along with two others – both with different background, one used to be a beggar, and the other one regarded as a genius cook. The three of them work together to support and create fresh new dishes, incorporating medicines and savored flavors of the past. However, as our female lead rises up the ladder, the true meaning of ‘food’ hits her; it’s a bridge connecting people and different cultures. She gives up competing in prestigious food competitions and leaves the palace to join the common people in spreading the love for Chinese cuisines.
