Palace drama Ru Yi’s Royal Love In The Palace (如懿传) is adapted from the novel written by Liu Lian Zi, following the marriage between Qianlong Emperor (Wallace Huo) and Ulanara (Zhou Xun), the Step Empress during the Qing dynasty. I don’t know what to think about this series…. the countless ladies and wives fighting and scheming for one man for many, many cycles of new faces. 90 episodes isn’t appealing either but there is always an audience for this type of dramas so there’s that.
With the drama section (Magnolia Awards) over with, here is the stars strutting it out for their upcoming movies! SO MANY. I’m drowning in pretty pics. The men are wicked awesome tonight. Usually they have on boring, routine stuff, but tonight, they shine more than the ladies, in my humble opinion. XD
What a casting and that is only the tip of the iceberg! In the veteran line-up, we have Tony Leung Ka Fai, Ray Lui, Jiang Wen Li, and Nina Paw! The movie marks the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China (after more than a century of British colonial rule) and it follows teacher-turned-guerilla-fighter Zhou Xun during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong in the 1940s. How the youths struggle and fight in wartime resistance groups.
That’s one heck of a long project. I can’t imagine filming for something for that long, you’ll get so attached to playing the given character! On the other hand, they used the production created sets well….now let’s hope it a ratings success for everyone’s effort! Highness Qianlong Emperor Wallace Huo and his OTP in Zhou Xun as Ru Yi and the depiction of their love story over….many dead bodies obstacles. Even best friend Chen Kun congratulated Zhou Xun on weibo, it’s been that long. 90 episodes of epic prettiness and show-off in claws and green monsters in the harem! I know Miss Peach and Coralie have already signed up to watch! Are you in that list? Lol.
