Zhang Yi Mou’s new drama confirms casting in Zhang Jia Yi, Liu Hao Cun, Qin Hai Lu, Shawn Dou, and Zhai Zi Lu

Zhu Jue (主角) is adapted from the novel written by Chen Yan. It follows the life of a famous Qinqiang artist, Qin E (I believe she’s a fictional character). Per Wiki: “Qinqiang is a genre of folk Chinese opera originated in Shaanxi Province of Qing China in 1807 and soon took over other genres to be the representative genre of the province.”

Booting Ceremony was held today! Director Zhang Yi Mou is serving as executive producer.

Bai Lu, Ou Hao, Zhai Zi Lu, and Gao Zhi Ting grow up together in Northward this March!

Northward (北上) is adapted from the novel written by Xu Ze Chen.

Synopsis Per Qiyi: The story revolves around several boys and girls who grew up together along the canal, after leaving to make their own growth, reunite after many years. After experiencing competition and the pressures of life, they rediscover the hope for a new life. Through the perspective of these Jiangnan youths, the audience not only witnesses their growth trajectory but also feels the vicissitudes of the Grand Canal’s history, from its dry period to rejuvenation over more than a century. It conveys the profound and enduring cultural heritage of the Chinese Grand Canal in the river of history.

Hu Bing Qing and Zhai Zi Lu work together as detectives to solve murder cases Under the Moonlight

Under the Moonlight (锦囊妙录) is another “Moon” drama this year so far. 😛

Synopsis Per Youku: Young girl Luo Shu was sold to a brothel as her family went broke. However, because of her kindness and acumen, she earned the nickname “Jinnang”. To change her life, she volunteered to assist the new county magistrate, Han Muzhi, in solving a major case. From then on, she temporarily stayed in the county office as a constable. During this time, she met Qi Menglin, a young nobleman who wanted to make a name in the martial world. Luo Shu was good at solving bizarre cases. As ten notorious murder cases took place one after another, including the gruesome “Headless Woman Case”, the eerie “Fenhe River Corpse Case”, and the treacherous “Winery Murder Case”, Luo Shu and Qi Menglin did everything they could to bring justice to the helpless women involved. As they solved several cases together, Luo Shu and Qi Menglin started to have feelings for each other. In the meantime, however, a bigger conspiracy began to unfold.

Sun Qian and Zhai Zi Lu lead cute group of youth in Wind Direction

Synopsis Per Qiyi: Seventeen-year-old Cheng Miaomiao and sixteen-year-old Cheng Yaya were born in the No. 1 Oil Extraction Plant of Linqi Oilfield, with three generations of their family working in the oilfield. Their father, Cheng Pengfei, is an ENT doctor, and their mother, Jia Daiyu, works in fleet logistics. The family moved from the northwest to the coastal base of Heping Town. In the late 1990s, Miaomiao, yearning for the outside world, planned an adventure to “welcome the return of Hong Kong” during the summer vacation of her first year of high school. She roped in her childhood friend Li Si and her best friend Hu Qiumin, but their plan failed from the start. Meanwhile, her 16-year-old brother, Cheng Yaya, went up the mountain for an archaeological expedition and was almost mistaken for a tomb raider. Their mother, Jia Daiyu, was extremely troubled, and the siblings began their chaotic high school journey. Miaomiao found herself in a friendship crisis with Li Si, while Yaya’s class saw the transfer of Yuan Shanqing, the daughter of a wanted criminal. Yaya was the first to stand up and shield Yuan Shanqing from hostility from all sides. In the midst of dealing with changes and challenges, the children welcomed growth in their lives.
