Modern War and Military drama The White Olive Tree with Chen Zhe Yuan and Liang Jie to air in February

Per Qiyi: This series is adapted from Jiu Yue Xi’s novel of the same name. During an interview mission in the turbulent East Country, Liang City satellite TV’s female reporter Song Ran (played by Liang Jie) encounters danger. Fortunately, she is rescued by Li Zan (played by Chen Zheyuan), a Chinese explosive engineer who volunteers in the East Country. Li Zan’s gentleness and childlike heart deeply attracts Song Ran. Through multiple interactions with Song Ran, Li Zan also realizes that though she appears weak on the outside, she’s actually brave and strong, with a heart filled with justice and kindness. With the same ideals and compatible souls, a spark of love ignites between the two. However, a sudden bombing attack puts a halt to this nascent relationship. After returning to China, both of them hit low points in their lives and even lose contact with each other. They are both suffering physically and mentally as Li Zan feels guilty and blames himself for the death of his friend who sacrificed his life to save him in the bombing attack, while Song Ran gets into a controversy due to a photo which she took during the bombing attack. By chance, they reunite and their lives gradually return to normal. Together, they plant the seeds of the white olive tree.

I haven’t said this line in a while but I almost lost an eyeball trying to compile this post. Lol. I guess Qiyi has the majority of my interested dramas. Hope ya’ll find this helpful. I tried to include as much as possible but will eliminate non-human/concept posters for my sanity. If I missed anything, feel free to help me out in the comments! XD

New Batch of Cdramas to Air: Master Wait a Moment, Hello Prosecutor, GO into Your Heart, The Justice, Double Tap

A few dramas airing on the same day here… I wonder if the new frenzy to secure a slot is done so before the “clean-up crew” finds something they don’t like to shelve a drama indefinitely.

Zhang Xin Cheng and Liang Jie swap their body/soul in The Day of Becoming You

The Day of Becoming You (变成你的那一天) is an upcoming romantic comedy with Zhang Xin Cheng and Liang Jie. The story according to Qiyi: Jiang Yi is a big star in the entertainment industry. He is the cold and distant leader of a popular boy band. In reality, he’s simply not good at expressing himself ever since his parents divorced when he was young. Meanwhile, Yu Sheng Sheng has become an entertainment reporter who keeps running up against a stone wall at work. Their lives were not meant to intersect, but an accident results in the two exchanging bodies on their birthday which happens to fall on the same day. The sudden change catch them off guard and with only each other to turn to for support in the days and nights that followed, Jiang Yi and Yu Sheng Sheng gradually fall in love.

The body-swapping shenanigans remind me of Korean drama Secret Garden except she’s not a stunt-woman who uses her fist but a reporter who uses her pen (words)!

Airing 6/17~
