Historical Fantasy drama A Dream Within A Dream begins filming with Li Yi Tong and Liu Yu Ning as leads

A Dream Within A Dream (书卷一梦) is an upcoming costume drama, it is not based on a novel. From what I can gather, the story follows our heroine who enters a script and becomes a heroine who is abandoned and abused to death by a villainous hero. No matter how hard she tries to run away, the plot somehow pulls her back to him. In this realm of scripted story, many characters are set to follow a trajectory, many yearn to break their shackles, how many could survive this cruel world? Other cast members include Zhu Xu Dan, Wang Yi Lun, Wang You Shuo, and Wang Cheng Si.

Costume Comedy drama Peacock in Wonderland with Zhou Jun Wei and Zhang Chu Han drops suddenly in April

Yay! Puppy Yan Lin has a new drama coming out, though I hope he gets more projects soon because it’s looking like a dry well now.

The name though. Lol. 🤭 Peacock in Wonderland (孔雀归来又逢君) is a costume comedy drama following our female lead as she time-travels to past after opening a magical antique box. She becomes a sacrificial goddess, accidentally getting tangled into a dangerous pursuit and meeting a young master in our male lead. After the ceremony, she’s thrown in jail and somehow our male lead becomes her bodyguard after many confrontations.

Spy thriller drama In the Name of the Brother with Qin Hao and Yang Mi to air in April

Looks like the theme for this month is republican series!

Synopsis from Qiyi: In the Name of the Brother (哈尔滨一九四四) is set in Harbin under the puppet Manchukuo regime in 1944, the story follows Song Zhuowen (played by Qin Hao), an underground party member disguised as a railway police officer, who is mistakenly identified by the head of the spy department, Guan Xue (played by Yang Mi), as her lifesaver—actually Zhuowen’s long-lost twin brother, Song Zhuowu (also played by Qin Hao). To uncover the ultimate mission of Kwantung Army officer Asano Daigo (played by Koji Yano) in Harbin, Zhuowen decides to use Guan Xue to infiltrate the spy department, but the sudden appearance of Zhuowu plunges him into unexpected trouble. Guan Xue is cold-blooded and suspicious, cruel and ruthless, while Zhuowu is impulsive by nature, often unintentionally sabotaging Zhuowen’s operations. Only through the arrangements of their superiors do the brothers cooperate and protect each other, avoiding the overt and covert struggles among their colleagues in the spy department, and eventually gaining the trust of Guan Xue and the Japanese officials. Within this short year, the underground party members endure hardships to uncover and stop a secret operation conspired by the Japanese army and the Soviet Union, root out the puppet Manchukuo spies within their party, and welcome the final victory of the war.
