Meng Xing Chang An (梦醒长安) is based on the novel written by Shi Si Que and follows the story of two sisters, played by Zhang Yu Xi and Xuan Lu, who were ripped apart by politics when they were younger, and reunited on opposing sides as adults. The story is set during the Tang Dynasty under Emperor Wenzong’s rule where powerful eunuchs run the court. He and other government officials plan to get rid of Eunuch Chou Shi Liang (Mickey He) but their plan failed, leading to the execution of prime minister Wang Ya’s family, leaving only two surviving granddaughters. They are separated and raised by different camps, meeting seven years later, when the new Emperor (Cheng Yi) launches the two camps against each other.
After Can Not Hug You, rising actor Xing Zhao Lin is back to ancient dramaland, this time he’ll be hunting demons with new face Jian Ren Zi . Wen Tian Lu (问天录) is loosely based on the a story some of us are aware of – Ghost Catcher: Legend of Beauty Zhongkui, and Lin will be playing the character in his younger days.
Hot dang! It’s December already…2017 is coming to an end. I can’t believe it. How time just flew over our head this year. We still have another month worth of dramas to watch! This is about half of them. Lol….
First official stills are out! Upcoming costume drama As Flowers Fade and Fly Across the Sky (花谢花飞花满天) will always break my heart because it should be Viann Zhang and Zhu Yi Long‘s reunion drama! GAH. But it’s not! Now your heart is broken too. Lol. Hey, I can’t be the only one suffering! Friends! ❤
Good thing is… everybody looks great in here, nice hair, nice costumes. Visual Feast.
Yes. You read that right, we have a wagon of trailers released yesterday at the press conference for Jiang Jin Fu‘s period drama, Royal Highness (回明之杨凌传), based on the novel written by Yue Guang. The novel follows a modern man who is given a chance to re-live and is sent back through time and landed himself in the Ming Dynasty. Using only his wits, he’s able to rise the rank and befriend the emperor. Friends, enemies, and a house of lovely ladies. What a lucky man. I think this is the premise our male fans would appreciate more than us girls. Lol. However, I have to add that the trailers surprised me in a good way. I expected more comedy from the synopsis but each trailer runs solemnly and wraps the struggles of each character nicely in one brief minute. It’s back on my watch-list now. XD
