You know me, I love behind-the-scenes videos. These Chinese productions have hundreds of workers on locations every day, so it’s not strange to see how fast they can shoot a drama within 3 months (usually modern), day-in-day-out. What we see onscreen is a the final results of blood and sweats and watching these videos always shows a new level of appreciation for the crew who works tirelessly behind the cameras all-year long.
Had a request to write about this drama. A lot of webdramas out there, so feel free to bring it up when I do miss them.
Hmmm, not sure why they called her Ugly ~ The girl is adorable beyond words. Adapted from the novel, Hi Ru Hua (嗨！如花), Zhu Xu Dan and Lai Yi reunite to bring you a light-hearted romcom for the summer. It has finished airing so you are free to marathon it! Her name might stem from the loving of her parents but she is raised without them and burdened by the fact that her twin brother has congenital heart disease, forcing her to make ends meet by picking up odd jobs throughout her life, selling everything and anything. Now she’s thick-skinned, loves money, and is fearless. Our male lead is an arrogant rich boy, as expected, who is recently shipped back after studying abroad in France. They clash when he’s forced to attend college like a regular kid and becomes roommate with her brother.
Hua Xin Shi or Painting Heart Expert/Teacher (working title) (画心师) is an upcoming webdrama produced by Sohu with the villain Zhu Xu Dan from Ten Miles of Peach Blossom and SpeXial’s Xiong Zi Qi (My Mr. Mermaid) as leads. I’m gonna attempt to translate the synopsis but it’s way over my head in terms of understanding. So there are these two opposing academies, one collects good, pure feelings/sentiments, while the other one feeds on people’s impure thoughts. Sounds like the good old days of good versus evil, and justice will prevail in the end.
I can’t keep track of all the short and long promo videos of this drama anymore. When I saw the word final trailer, I napped that one immediately. I really don’t know why Chinese productions feel the need to show all their cards to the viewers before hand (the countless rounds of trailers). I think some fans like it but I really prefer not to see ALL the critical scenes play out in random order. Anyway, Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (三生三世十里桃花) will premiere on Sunday, January 29th, running for 58 episodes. Drama gods have mercy on our short-attention memory (aiming at me.)
Opening themesongs are revealed for two dramas that will be contending in the ratings game with General and I nearing its last leg of episodes. Smart move to air earlier. Yang Mi‘s Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and Jing Tian‘s Glory of the Tang Dynasty. On the one hand, I still do not feel much for the OTP of 3L3W but their secondary and tertiary couples are looking cute and their songs are pretty on the dot to steal my little heart. On the other hand, while Tang Dynasty is on the down low with promos, I’m more inclined to check it out, thanks largely to the intense trailer, Jing Tian’s charms, and the wagon of cast members from Legend of Chusen. I need to see them in something worthwhile of their talents. Yes, that’s a shade at you, Chusen!
Ah! While I don’t dig the main couple of this drama (yet), the first song from their soundtrack hits all the right notes for me. 3 more weeks to go before the official airing date of Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (三生三世十里桃花), a drama adaptation of Tang Qi Gong Zi‘s novel, depicting the lives of two immortals as they are teared apart in one lifetime and given another chance to meet through another form of themselves. Yang Mi and Mark Zhao portray the twisted OTP. More stills, posters and the song after the jump.
EDIT// Just added in the official MV for Liang Liang.
