Roy Chiu (“Office Girls”, Dear Ex) is the reason why I started watching Asian dramas. I saw him in Easy Fortune Happy Life as the loan shark with a heart of gold, loved his character and started watching as many of his shows and movies as I could find. So it was nice to start 2020 by watching his new web drama, Detective Chinatown (唐人街探案) and finally be inspired to write a new review after such a long time.

Movie Reviews: Legend of the Demon Cat (Cmovie, 2017) and Detective Chinatown 2 (Cmovie, 2018)
I visit the China Film Insider website ever so often to read about the latest movies and last month had read an article about how currently the most popular movies in China are those with “buddy love” storylines. I’d been noticing lately that a lot of the movies and series I have started to prefer as well have had a strong bromance and could see why they would do well.
Good examples of the bromance element can be found in Legend of the Demon Cat and Detective Chinatown 2. Because both movies are basically buddy cop murder mysteries and had a lot of common elements, despite taking place in different time periods and being different genres (historical drama versus modern comedy), I decided to review them together.

How’s your New Year so far folks? I’m gonna party all weekend with family and friends. It’s a long weekend for me too since I don’t have work on Monday! YESHHH BABY!! I only managed to compile a few TV stations down below. I’ll try to update more when I’m sober? ^_^
CMovie Updates: Legend of Demon Cat, Growing Pains, Youth, Love Is A Broadway Hit

Chinese Celebrities and their Moms: Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! I don’t think we need a reminder to appreciate our moms because such unconditional and selfless love can only stem from our parents. It always amazes how much my mom has accomplished so far despite being illiterate (she only recognizes her children’s names) and very poor for many years. She’s my star, my love, and my inspiration. Always and Forever.
A compilation of Chinese celebrities with their lovely mothers or some fans would say… their mother-in-laws (hehe)!
Chinese Movies in Box Office Battle for Lunar New Year 2017
Well, well, well. You don’t have a shortage in movies at the theaters at all if you’re in China. A movie for every genre. Below is the list of movies set to premiere on the 28th. Presale tickets are piling up with Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons 2 leading over the rest. Not a surprise.
Which one(s) are you looking forward to the most?
Chat Station: Run Brother (Ep. 10) and Run For Time (Finale)
Didn’t expect Run for Time to end so quickly. Ady An and Meng Ge Ge (actor Joe Xu Hai Qiao) co-starred in this episode as people from the past.

Alrighty, it’s that time of the year again where Chinese Broadcasting stations fight to get the most popular artists to perform at their New Year Music Shows. I will try to add as many performances as possible! Check to see where your favorite stars went!
