Sometimes, I would see an image of Godfrey and my fingers would move to weibo to check what’s going with him, then I would realize he’s no longer with us. We Are All Alone (怪你过分美丽) is his last drama and it’s based on a novel written by Wei Zai. I thought it’s a little bit ironic how the drama is about actors and the entertainment circle. Our heroine played by Qin Lan is a strict and successful agent, while Godfrey is a lawyer. The trailers raise up a lot of interesting issues, especially roles that older actresses are limited to – involving the talented Kara Hui no less! It is a cutthroat occupation. You need the right combination of timing, luck, and hard work to shine and stay shining.
Being A Hero (冰雨火) is a modern police drama about fighting against narcotics starring dual male leads Chen Xiao and Wang Yi Bo, who each has a love interest in Zhao Zhao Yi and Guo Xiao Ting. Three years ago, police officer Wu Gang was killed by a drug organization known as K. His son, Wu Zhen Feng (played by Chen Xiao) is expelled from the police force for violating the rules. Embarrassed, he tries to run away but is chased by his good friend Chen Yu (Wang Yi Bo). Along the way, they are attacked and in saving Chen Yu, Zhen Feng is taken away by the drug traffickers. From then on, the two young men are separated and each has to continue on their own path. Three years later, Chen Yu is now a recognized youngest policeman in the narcotics department while Zhen Feng resurfaces as a murder suspect and is related to the famed drug gang. Chen Yu doffs his police uniform to infiltrate the drug gang and learns that his friend is a lonely hero. The two reunite on the same side and work together to break apart the infamous drug gang.
YESH! It’s confirmed! And I love how our male leads look in here! So pumped for this! I haven’t seen Chen Xiao in forever and the new look is sexy. 😛
I like how they say it’s airing in October and I look at the calendar….only 7 days left to go now, production team! Chen Xiang and Guo Xiao Ting will be leading the remake of Huang Yi’s novel, which was adapted in 2001 by TVB called A Step Into The Past; the new adaptation has a mouthful name…. A Legend of A Modern Man Gets Back to Qin Dynasty, the story follows a police officer as he travels back in time to the warring periods of China and gets involved in many historical events leading to the unification of China under the Qin dynasty.
Due to the confusion in the last post, I will say it here that Tong Hua‘s novel, The Starry Night The Starry Sea (那片星空那片海), was published in 2015, way before Lee Min Ho’s Legend of the Blue Sea even started casting in 2016. With that off my chest, mermaid form Feng Shao Feng is scary-looking. LOL. If I see him anywhere in the water, I would stop breathing immediately and not pull him in a kiss like Haden Kuo did in the new trailer. XD It’s also nice to have a fierce-looking merman for once since they almost always look kind and lovely. Second trailer is intense.
Really looking forward to this! Weeeeee! Ending themesong by Zhou Shen is uploaded at the end.
