The Starry Night The Starry Sea Second: Episodes 1 & 2 Recap
It’s here! I only found out about this drama a week ago but let me tell you, it was a very long week lol I’m fairly new to Chinese Dramas. I was browsing an Asian drama website looking for a new Korean drama to watch when I happened upon Ice Fantasy. I devoured it. Thus started my budding crush on Feng Shao Feng. Of course it was only natural that I waited in anticipation for his next drama The Starry Night The Starry Sea, and now here I am waiting and watching The Starry Night The Starry Sea 2. The fall into Chinese Drama junky is a slow and steady one.
I have to say, one of the things that first drew me to The Starry Night The Starry Sea (besides Feng Shao Feng) was that the story was not about a mermaid but a merman. I would say that 99% of stories about merpeople are focused on a female. Be it the American industry such as the movies The Little Mermaid and Splash or the international industry such as the Korean dramas Legend of the Blue Sea and Surplus Princess. So the fact that this drama focused on a merman was immediately intriguing. Ok, enough chatter, let’s get this review started.

Wei Chen sings themesong for The Starry Night The Starry Sea Second
If you remember, the modern version of The Starry Night The Starry Sea (那片星空那片海), a drama adapted from Tong Hua‘s novel about merman ended earlier this year. The ancient version will showcase the leads’ previous love lives… The main OTP and some cast members returned with the addition of Hong Kong actor, Bosco Wong, donning a mask. Press conference was held this morning with Wei Chen singing the opening themesong.

Zhao Li Ying and Feng Shao Feng caught on second date?
You followed these actors for hours on end and yet you couldn’t capture a clear photos? I actually don’t know anymore. Are they a promotional tactic for The Story of Ming Lan? Or are C-netizens just too excited to marry off our girl? Lol. But yes, just like the dinner date last time (work-related, they included old photos too), our girl (or maybe not our girl) is supposedly caught on another date with Feng Shao Feng. The story released was that after Feng Shao Feng finished dinner with friends, he picked up Li Ying, and both spent time at his place until the next morning.

Excited for both movies! While OUAT has endless promos approaching its premiere date, Han Son and The Beast remains tightly under wraps until this week and they finished filming a long time ago!
