Must be booting week because a bunch of dramas started to film! Just a quick rundown, I’ll write more in details when they have their separate introduction post ~
Variety Show 24 Hours Season 3 with Jimmy Lin, Hu Yi Tian, Lin Yun, Xiong Zi Qi, and more
A lot of new variety shows popping up lately. Outdoor reality show 24 Hours is not new but they have switched in new faces for Season 3 and it premieres today 2/2 with Jimmy Lin, Shawn Yue, Wei Da Xun, Bai Jing Ting, Hu Yi Tian, Xiong Zi Qi, and Lin Yun as the only female member. The first two seasons were led by Chen Kun, Han Geng, Leo Wu, and 3 more.

If anyone is busy, then Dylan Xiong Zi Qi is one to add to the list, busy filming one drama after another. He’s another new face from last year that I haven’t gotten the chance to watch in any projects yet. Seems like a nice kid on variety shows. He will be romancing Li Xi Rui in Pretty Man (国民老公), adapted from Ye Fei Ye‘s novel. It’s a modern love story that starts in high school where our two leads harbor crushes for each other but not brave enough to admit. Events happen and he thinks she likes his younger brother (of a different mother), while she thinks he hates her. And just like that 13 years pass by and now he’s a rich CEO of a company, also an acting god, while she’s a budding new actress in the scene. Behind the scene, they are forced to get married but he’s acting under the name of his younger brother – who’s in a coma after an accident. Now linked together, they will jump through hurdles to the very end. Sweetly.

Dylan Xiong Zi Qi and Lai Yu Meng begin filming As Long As You Love Me
Stepmother is getting richer and richer! Her novels keep getting drama adaptations! Fei Wo Si Cun is well-known in cyberspace so I don’t have to introduce her anymore right? Her latest one is As Long As You Love Me (爱情的开关) which has cast Dylan Xiong Zi Qi and Lai Yu Meng in the main roles. Tidbits from the novel: They share the same last name since her mother remarries after her father dies (not accident *shade*) to his father. He wasn’t the greatest stepbrother but they did share a beautiful childhood love after he softens to their presence before his father’s obsession with her mother grows out of control. Like father, like son? The two lovebirds decide to elope but on the day of their flight, he’s called back home and tells the girl to wait. The heroine eventually returns to find her family in tragedy. The man she loves now looks at her like an enemy. Turns out her mother has learned the truth about her deceased husband and hires a man to shoot his father – now he’s left with a brain of a child. To avenge for his father, the hero shoots HER mother in the head, leaving her in a vegetative state. Their love broken, he forces her to stay by his side as he tortures her….letting her watch him date and stay with other girls.
Dang…… I’m out. But the drama version probably won’t go that far…
