The King of Blaze or Fire King (火王) is adapted from a Taiwanese comic written by You Su Lan, the second installment to her The Seven Mirrors’ Stories series. There’s a modern version as well ~
Stepmother is getting richer and richer! Her novels keep getting drama adaptations! Fei Wo Si Cun is well-known in cyberspace so I don’t have to introduce her anymore right? Her latest one is As Long As You Love Me (爱情的开关) which has cast Dylan Xiong Zi Qi and Lai Yu Meng in the main roles. Tidbits from the novel: They share the same last name since her mother remarries after her father dies (not accident *shade*) to his father. He wasn’t the greatest stepbrother but they did share a beautiful childhood love after he softens to their presence before his father’s obsession with her mother grows out of control. Like father, like son? The two lovebirds decide to elope but on the day of their flight, he’s called back home and tells the girl to wait. The heroine eventually returns to find her family in tragedy. The man she loves now looks at her like an enemy. Turns out her mother has learned the truth about her deceased husband and hires a man to shoot his father – now he’s left with a brain of a child. To avenge for his father, the hero shoots HER mother in the head, leaving her in a vegetative state. Their love broken, he forces her to stay by his side as he tortures her….letting her watch him date and stay with other girls.
Dang…… I’m out. But the drama version probably won’t go that far…
Well….. after filming the ancient version known as The King of Blaze, Bolin Chen and Jing Tian have moved on to the modern story of their characters’ reincarnations in 火王之千里同风. King of Blaze has a prequel called Melancholic Princess too but the synopsis doesn’t match up. Apparently, there are three parts to their story: one sets in the ancient times, the next in the Tang dynasty (this one sounds like it’s dropped), and finally in the modern period. They are joined by Zhang Yi Jie (King is Not Easy) and Lai Yu Meng (Go Goal Fighting!).
Sometimes Cdramas have the weirdest titles to fool you, what’s with Delicious Destiny when it’s all sour angst, then a species under the falcon family too. Lol. I can’t even argue that it’s memorable!
Bolin Chen and Jing Tian have been filming for drama The King of Blaze or Fire King (火王), adapted from a Taiwanese comic written by You Su Lan, the second installment to her The Seven Mirrors’ Stories series. Yesterday, they released some official stills from the production to whet your appetite.
War drama, Liang Jian 3 (亮剑3) or Drawing Sword 3, is made to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army, following its prequels Drawing Sword 1 and 2, released in 2005 and 2006 respectively. The new story will feature the patriotism and loyalty of the young generation beginning in 1938 about the Eighth Route Army, while still maintaining the values and meaning the originals evoked. At its center focus, Liang Jian 3 has three heroes for you to root for: Zhang Yun Long (Special Beautiful Man), Vengo Gao (Eternal Love), and Shawn Wei (Deer of Cauldron 2014).
Plucking this from my news batch to divide the mess into two posts. 😉
