The First Frost (难哄) is adapted from the novel written by Zhu Yi and if you remember, it’s the spinoff to Zhao Lu Si’s Hidden Love. This is her brother (Sang Yan)’s story. He is now the owner of a bar and chances upon an old classmate who had crush on him back in high school. Our female lead is a reporter and even though she realizes who he is, she pretends not to know him – and he does the same thing. Something happens and they end up being housemates.

Hidden Love (偷偷藏不住) is adapted from the novel written by Zhu Yi. Going through the novel reviews, it looks like a sweet romance. Our heroine has frequent parents meeting and in order to avoid troubles, she enlists the help of her older brother but since they are like cat-and-dog, she turns to her brother’s friend (our male lead) instead. From then on, they become friends but he only looks at her like a younger sister. And he should because he’s 7 years older than her (not sure about the drama). He’s a university student and she’s a middle school girl harboring a small crush on this new friend. BUT their romance doesn’t start until she becomes a college student in the city he’s in. Phew.

The story follows their childhood well into their adulthood. She’s a blunt girl from a broken family and he’s an arrogant archer, both meeting again in college. He nurses a love for her for years while she remains oblivious to his feelings until that night where she is drunk and her antics prompt her to look at her own feelings differently.
