Ohh, I’m very easy and these pretty stills are luring me into yet another drama adaptation of Fei Wo Si Cun‘s novel! I like that even though I have seen these two actors before, the costumes and hairstyles make them look very different and in a good way.
Youku bought a lot of dramas to air under its wing in the upcoming months. Let’s see if any project piques your interest!
Fan Bing Bing‘s massive historical drama, Win The World (赢天下), is based on the story of a Qin Dynasty widow who was named the most successful and richest entrepreneur of the time, Widow Qing. After her husband’s death, she remained unmarried but the drama will draw out her complicated relationship with Qin Shi Huang (played by Gao Yun Xiang). Google tells me her ancestors became rich for digging “elixir” through mining. She was even once rewarded by Emperor Qin Shi Huang and considered as an older sister, and even given the title “virtuous woman.” There was mention that she even helped him built the Great Wall of China with her immense wealth. But if the trailer tells us anything, this is gonna get scandalous too. Somehow, I could never get into Fan Bing Bing’s dramas.

I forgot who said this quote, but doing charity only has a beginning, it never ends. Looks like the drama adaptation of Fei Wo Si Cun‘s novel Eastern Palace (东宫), has officially begun filming with an English name of Goodbye My Princess. Just like any other novels, it will get multiple versions: a movie, one drama, and a possible webdrama. The movie version has Zhao Li Ying and Yang Yang’s names attached as rumors for years but yet nothing is made of it. While the drama adaptation did have Fan Bing Bing as the rumored female lead for a little while. No confirmation was made until the drama weibo posted on August 6th that a big move would be taking place soon and in the comment section, fans dropped names, most popular are Hu Ge and Liu Shi Shi. Lol.
But today the booting ceremony takes place with the confirmed leads… guess who?
Great details and contrast in the the costumes but the plain-jane hair on the ladies surprised me a little, especially on the younger ones. The older ladies have fantastic hair.
I almost lost an eye getting all the names down! Lol.
