Tears in Heaven with Li Qin, Shawn Dou, and Zhang Yun Long drops new trailer, gearing up for premiere (finally!)
Poor drama, the team is pretty self-aware on weibo, even listing the number of days Tears In Heaven has been shelved (1086 days). The drama is adapted from stepmother Fei Wo Si Cun‘s novel Variety Flowers At Seaside (剧海上繁花). The synopsis I wrote in 2017… Lol: Reporter Du Xiao Su (Li Qin) meets and falls in love with doctor Shao Zhen Rong (Zhang Yun Long), but his mother is passionately against their love. During his medical trip to the mountains, our doctor dies in a mudslide. To forget the pain of his death, our heroine works and works until exhaustion sends her to the hospital. All her suffering is witnessed by Lei Yu Zheng (Shawn Dou) and he silently helps her from the side, which provokes the wrath of our resident second female lead (Wang Rui Zi), who makes our heroine’s life at work harder. More scheming happens to make Yu Zheng’s company fall and with the support of Xiao Su, he makes a comeback and their misunderstanding is eventually cleared up.
Shawn’s character needs a name change, STAT!

First Impression: What do you think of The Wolf with Darren Wang, Li Qin, and Xiao Zhan?
Did not expect to wake up to this news. Lol.
After three-ish years, The Wolf (狼殿下) has suddenly decided to air, VIP members get the full series! The story takes place at the end of the Tang Dynasty, when Zhu Wen usurps the throne and establishes the Later Liang Dynasty, and he’s known as Emperor Taizu. Our female lead is daughter of an official and as a child, she befriends a young boy who lives in the mountain. One day when he saves a wolf, he accidentally falls over the cliff and is rescued by Zhu Wen. The authoritative figure adopts him as a godson. 10 years later, he saves the female lead per chance and finds her courage and intelligence resonant, and she likes that while he’s in a position of power, he still has humility and kindness. She encourages him to fight for justice and he begins that journey by helping the people, stopping throne fights, etc. Even when they have conflicts, they will face those frankly. As they overcome obstacles and fight for justice, politics get darker and the path ahead becomes harder to trudge.
Airing 11/19 ~
COVID-19 Anthology Cdrama – Together, with Ten Different Stories and Cast Members
I did not expect that in my lifetime there would be a global pandemic happening. It is – still is, very tough. Working in a major hospital, I was very fortunate to have a job through Covid but there were definitely some selfish moments where I just wanted to stay home and stay away from the hospital, where protocols and procedures keep changing every single day as we learned more things about the virus. Colleagues falling sick and hospital dispatching some of us to different areas, sometimes unrelated to our job; some smaller hospitals were sending my co-workers to work at the morgue. >.<”
I don’t know what to expect from these dramas but maybe all we need is a little thing called hope to keep us moving forward. Having this blog and some of you guys to chat with has always been the anchor of my sanity. So thank-you for that! Stay healthy, stay informed, stay connected, and stay calm! We are in this together.
Friday Photoshoots: Ni Ni, Jing Bo Ran, Yang Mi and More
At long last the weekend is here again. Whilst weekends are not the most exciting, especially with the situation going on in the world, I hope these pretty pictures can be that short escape from reality. Remember to stay safe.

Ohhh. I’m excited for Li Qin! Finally not a wallflower role! Qin Hao is also back in the attention of viewers, what’s with the rave reviews for his mini series The Bad Kids and now this is gearing up for a premiere as well (no date though yet!). The Song of Glory (锦绣南歌) is an upcoming ancient series with our leads as a power couple. She’s the lost daughter of a military family and meets him, the Emperor, when she’s working at a dance house. He’s an Emperor who wants to push for political reforms for a better country but power is controlled by the Lu Family. In order to strengthen his hold over the throne, he arranges a political marriage with the Shen Family and does not know the girl turns out to be our female lead when she uncovers her real identity. But as they take on corrupted government officials together, her family is murdered, blurring the lines of love, duty, and loyalty.
