First Impression: What do you think of The Wolf with Darren Wang, Li Qin, and Xiao Zhan?

Did not expect to wake up to this news. Lol.

After three-ish years, The Wolf (狼殿下) has suddenly decided to air, VIP members get the full series! The story takes place at the end of the Tang Dynasty, when Zhu Wen usurps the throne and establishes the Later Liang Dynasty, and he’s known as Emperor Taizu. Our female lead is daughter of an official and as a child, she befriends a young boy who lives in the mountain. One day when he saves a wolf, he accidentally falls over the cliff and is rescued by Zhu Wen. The authoritative figure adopts him as a godson. 10 years later, he saves the female lead per chance and finds her courage and intelligence resonant, and she likes that while he’s in a position of power, he still has humility and kindness. She encourages him to fight for justice and he begins that journey by helping the people, stopping throne fights, etc. Even when they have conflicts, they will face those frankly. As they overcome obstacles and fight for justice, politics get darker and the path ahead becomes harder to trudge.

Airing 11/19 ~

Fluffy romance in Attention Love with Joanne Tseng and Wang Zi

How’s Taiwanese dramaland doing these days? Any good ones? The upcoming modern youth drama, Attention Love (稍息立正我爱你) reunites Ti Amo Chocolate‘s costars Joanne Tseng and Wang Zi as the main OTP. They were betrothed to each other as babies and Wang Zi plays a broody boy returning back to Taiwan after living in Japan. With his father’s death, he goes and lives with Joanne’s family and attends the same high school as her. She’s a somewhat of a badass leader at school, known affectionately as Zhong Ge (Zhong big brother). Second lead couple goes to Spexial’s Riley Wang Yi Lun (Long For You) and Guo Shu Yao (The Teenage Pyschic). I haven’t seen much of the leads’ acting to give a statement but the trailer looks quite cute and harmless.

GAHHH. Miss Li Qin is stunningly, hauntingly beautiful in these stills with her shiny eyes, filled with unshed tears. Everyone looks good in the upcoming period drama The Majesty of Wolf (狼殿下), including male lead in Darren Wang, fellow Taiwanese actress Guo Shu Yao (Aim High), and Xiao Zhan.

The Wolf begins filming with Li Qin, Darren Wang, Xiao Zhan

Originally called The Majesty of Wolf, the new costume series is now known as The Wolf (Lang Dian Xia 狼殿下), starring OTP in Li Qin and Darren Wang Da Lu. It is the second installment of the Wang series franchise after Prince of Lan Ling. The booting ceremony was held yesterday’s morning with Li Qin in attendance. She’s a busy drama queen (not the bad kind! XD) this year, series after series. Quite a few Taiwanese actors are partaking in here as well, which makes sense given that Ariel Lin was in the first installment.

Aim High: Episode 2 & 3 “Run or Confront?”

 photo Aim2-15.jpg

You guys should have seen my face when Yi Fen complains about not hearing from the jobs she applied to just a few days ago. Gurl, this missy’s been waiting for months! And unlike you, this missy does not know a handsome manager to get her a job! Oy, the pains of reality. Anyway, the plot is moving at a snail’s pace, and if it weren’t for the likable cast, I might not have continued this far.

Aim High: Episode 1 “Never stop dreaming.”

And that ladies and gentlemen, is the lesson for today! Never let anyone rain on your dreams and definitely, never let anyone tell you to stop dreaming! 🙂

SETTV’s latest offering on Fridays gives us Aim High, (another) story following (another) group of friends as they live, dream, and struggle in today’s brutal working society. You sense my skeptical attitude yet? At the end of the hour, I liked what I saw in these kids adults. The name brings me back to my own high school moments, how we gathered around the teacher’s desk and guessed who scored the highest on the weekly calculus test (such nerds we were!), and one of my friends would say, “Aim high, so when you fall, you fall within your true range.” The response he always got was, “Shut up!”

Now that I think about his quote, I snicker, that puny-sized wise kid.
