Gu Long’s The Lost Swordship gets drama adaptation with Wu You and Ren Yan Kai

The Lost Swordship (飘香剑雨) or literal translation Flowing Fragrance Sword Rain is the drama adaptation of Gu Long’s novel. His stories are less famous than Jin Yong and not everyone is familiar with these titles, even I have to say I didn’t watch the older movie adaptation in 1978! The new version has Ren Yan Kai (Yes! Mr. Fashion) and Wu You (Because of You) as the leads. From Amazon reviews, it’s a story about the mysterious martial arts clan: “The Sky Clan is a deadly cult. Their masked leader, known as The Bishop wants to rule the Martial Arts world. He has killed most of the top fighters of the other factions, only the long lost fragrant sword style has escaped his clan’s grasp. Swordsman Lu Nan-Jen (Tien Peng) is the heir to the fragrant sword style and is now the main target of the Sky Clan. Using all his cunning and skill, Lu Nan-Jen manages to fend off all The Bishop’s legions of fighters and swordsmen who want to capture him.”

Wu Xin The Monster Killer 2 uses same themesong, Ying Er and Nicky Wu sing for My Ruby My Blood

Here are two more dramas that are scheduled to compete for your time this summer. Wu Xin The Monster Killer Season 2 and modern drama My Ruby My Blood with Nicky Wu and Ying Er.

Posters for webdrama Three Lives Three Worlds Tao Hua Yuan

The Legendary School: Three Lives Three Worlds Tao Hua Yuan is an upcoming webdrama not to be confused with the novel franchise written by Tangqi Gongzi. Instead, it is based on a popular manga of the same name. Lol. Fans are calling it a fake after a fake since Tangqi is infamous with plagiarism as well. What a mess but the kids are pretty! It features a line of fresh faces in a fantasy drama surrounding a campus, following the love story between our couple that spans three generations. A mysterious school where descendants from various clans, dragons, foxes, and etc gather around to resolve centuries-old entanglements.

Ou Yang Nana and Cheney Chen’s promo for Yes Mr. Fashion

Directed by Guo Jing Ming, Yes Mr. Fashion (是!尚先生) is like a vehicle for Yang Mi’s boys from her Tiny Times franchise. The OTP – Cheney Chen and Ou Yang Nana – looks okay together but the age difference is jarring. He’s a 90’er and she was born in 2000! She’s only 16 people! Can we not follow the trend in Kdramas and cast underage actresses with actors a decade or so older than them? Lordy. I feel queasy…
