Zhao Li Ying’s 10th Year Debut Anniversary (May 6th)

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since our country bumpkin kick-started her career in the entertainment world. After winning Yahoo’s Search Star Game (搜星比赛), she scored her first CF. While she was in minor roles in dramas that I have watched, alongside actresses like Chen Qiao En, Ady An, etc.., I only ever started to pay attention to her elf-like features when she was cast in the remake of Huan Zhu Ge Ge (Princess Returning Pearl) in 2011 as the demure and intelligent Qing Er. The fandom really began for me with Female Prime Minister, buoyed by her fantastic chemistry with Chen Xiao and the onslaught of pretty, pretty visuals. So I guess one way or another, Yu Zheng brought us together. *snickers* Never thought I would say that line….

Zhao Li Ying’s character teaser for The Mystic Nine

Don’t worry, The Mystic Nine is just the official English name for Old Nine Gates (老九门). One heck of a badass name, don’t ya think? Two weeks ago, they gave us a character teaser for William Chan‘s character and now we have one for his devoted wifey. Zhao Li Ying is only a recurring guest role so not many scenes in the series, keke. Her role as Yin Xin Yue is mischievous and smart young lady. She has a fiancé but falls in love with William after their first encounter (and saves him many times after). When he falls from the top, she’s there to support and protect him from various assassination groups. Like she has balls of steels! I love her character already.

Nope. Never those dang straight bangs. LOL!

Tomb-raiding families gather in webdrama Old Nine Gates

What? You didn’t know? Raiding ancient people’s resting places is the new trend for many beautiful people these days. Old Nine Gates (老九门) is the prequel to The Lost Tomb and follows the leaders of the nine grave-robbing family and their adventures to save the people of Changsha from a potential deadly threat. Posters of the main characters were just released including leading men in William Chan and Zhang Yi Xing, as well as a cameo appearance from the busy queen Zhao Li Ying.
