Amnesia hits Wang Chu Ran in costume drama Are You The One with Zhang Wan Yi

Are You The One (柳舟记; previously known as Hidden Charm) is translated from the novel written by Kuang Shang Jia Kuang. The story opens with our female lead being found injured by the male lead down a river. She wakes up with amnesia and mistakes the male lead to be her to-be husband. Why was she injured you may ask? She’s the leader of a bandit group and also the male lead’s mortal enemy. Male lead thinks she’s part of the bandit group and tries to act the part of her to-be husband to hopefully use her as a bait to lure the leader of the bandits (the irony). When I said hit in the title, I meant it. She suffers another amnesia and forgets the time she spent with ML as fake husband and wife. Lol. That’s all I got from reading reviews. xD

Wu Jin Yan and Xu Kai cook up a Royal Feast in new historical foodie drama

Royal Feast (尚食) reunites Xu Kai and Wu Jin Yan in historical foodie drama! Quite a lot of food-centered dramas lately. We follow our heroine as she enters the forbidden palace as a lowly maid in the royal kitchen and works her way up. It is set during Yongle’s years of the Ming dynasty as the emperor decides to open up the food bureau for female recruits. Our female lead is accepted, along with two others – both with different background, one used to be a beggar, and the other one regarded as a genius cook. The three of them work together to support and create fresh new dishes, incorporating medicines and savored flavors of the past. However, as our female lead rises up the ladder, the true meaning of ‘food’ hits her; it’s a bridge connecting people and different cultures. She gives up competing in prestigious food competitions and leaves the palace to join the common people in spreading the love for Chinese cuisines.

Airing 2/22~

The Longest Promise (Yu Gu Yao) with Xiao Zhan and Ren Min wraps up filming and releases New Stills

The Longest Promise (玉骨遥) is an upcoming fantasy drama based loosely on the novel Zhu Yan (prequel to the Li Yi Feng’s Mirror drama) written by Cang Yue (Listening Snow Tower). Ren Min plays a kind and headstrong princess of the Chi Clan who escapes an arranged marriage (her name is the name of the novel; looks like we can expect a lot of changes to make this Male Lead-centered drama), and Xiao Zhan plays a cold and aloof royal prince who is sent to the mountains to cultivate (due to the Grand Priest’s premonition of him falling in love with a girl). He is nine years older than her and she becomes his disciple… their destiny and romance tied to the future of Kong Sang Kingdom. At one point, she draws his blood. If you like the leads (or one of them) stabbing one another, this is your drama! 😛
