Xianxia drama Lin Jiang Xian with Bai Lu and Zeng Shun Xi wrapped up filming

Lin Jiang Xian (临江仙) is an original screenplay, produced by Yu Zheng aka Yumama. Like his previous productions, he has been teasing fans with tidbits and an abundance of stills. I kinda like that we don’t know much about the story so no comparisons like a lot of novel-to-drama adaptations these days.

Enjoy the stills below!

Opposite attracts as rival tribe members Li Yi Tong and Bi Wen Jun light up the sparkles in Warm on a Cold Night

Synopsis From Viki because the Qiyi’s plot gave me rash reading it: Su Jiu Er (Li Yi Tong) is a young, talented, and personable female constable with a keen investigatory mind. She hails from the Qian Kingdom, meaning she is in possession of a rabbit-like spirit – and that she constantly feels cold. She is attracted to warmth, wherever she can find it. During the course of her investigations, she is forced to go undercover, where she comes across Han Zheng (Bi Wen Jun), a member of the Qi Kingdom’s ruling family.

Han Zhen is imbued with a wolf-like spirit, which grants him phenomenal strength and agility. It also makes his skin incredibly warm to the touch – a factor that makes Su Jiu Er want to cuddle up to him! But he lacks interpersonal skills, and is harsh and abrasive to everyone he meets. Opposites attract, however – and this unusual duo forms an increasingly close bond as they investigate a strange murder case that involves both of their kingdoms! Will their hot-cold connection lead them to love?

Wu Jin Yan and Xu Kai cook up a Royal Feast in new historical foodie drama

Royal Feast (尚食) reunites Xu Kai and Wu Jin Yan in historical foodie drama! Quite a lot of food-centered dramas lately. We follow our heroine as she enters the forbidden palace as a lowly maid in the royal kitchen and works her way up. It is set during Yongle’s years of the Ming dynasty as the emperor decides to open up the food bureau for female recruits. Our female lead is accepted, along with two others – both with different background, one used to be a beggar, and the other one regarded as a genius cook. The three of them work together to support and create fresh new dishes, incorporating medicines and savored flavors of the past. However, as our female lead rises up the ladder, the true meaning of ‘food’ hits her; it’s a bridge connecting people and different cultures. She gives up competing in prestigious food competitions and leaves the palace to join the common people in spreading the love for Chinese cuisines.

Xu Kai becomes a better man to win Li Yi Tong’s love in Court Lady

Court Lady (骊歌行) is an upcoming period drama based on the unfinished novel written by Feng Nong (General and I), who then proceeded to finish the story through this drama script. Interesting. That means there won’t be novel fans cursing at the differences? Lol. The story takes place during the Tang Dynasty and follows the romance between a good-for-nothing spoiled hero and our talented heroine who pushes him out of his lazy chair. Our hero is famous for having no dreams and no ambitions, satisfied with wasting away his father’s money until a chance encounter with the heroine. She likes a man of direction and talents and that shall be his motivation to grow and mature but soon he begins to realize the instability of the Tang Empire, motivating him further. He spurs into action, becoming a military commander to protect the borders and stop illegal smuggling. In the meantime, our heroine works her way up in the palace as a weaver, facing dangers that threaten her and her family.

Jiang Chao romances Li Xi Rui in To Love To Heal

Another Li Xi Rui‘s drama! She’s currently being wooed by Dylan Xiong in Pretty Man. To Love To Heal is another modern drama where she’s paired up with Jiang Chao (The Fox’s Summer). As the name suggests, it’s a healing romance where our heroine loses her first love in an accident and therefore she lives in the past, doing the things he would want to do, pursuing studies he would want to do. Years pass by just like that until she meets a game CEO at a bar and they engage…in a one night stand that leaves the hero rattled when she cries and calls out his name in pain (he shares the same second character name with her lost love.) Two years pass by before the two meet again and this time, he’s eager to win over her cold heart! Whether or not they keep certain aspects in the drama is another story. 🙂
