Now this is an interesting premise (with the potential to be heart-tugging/heart-breaking) for a drama to have in recent memory. Me and My Family (180天重启计划) is adapted from the novel written by Chu Tang. The story follows recently unemployed female lead who decides to move back in with her mother for some comfort. Turns out her newly remarried mother is pregnant at 48 and our FL finds herself navigating a wave of emotions and dynamics in the new family.

Hope everyone had a peaceful Lunar New Year! I was busy taking a recovering-from-multiple-viruses toddler to visit the relatives. You really don’t know how life will change with kids until it hits you in the face point-blank. Haven’t had time to browse the web much! Both dramas finished filming this past week and I’m intrigued seeing Bai Yu in historical costumes! I have a soft spot for this man. <3
And the saga continues for our six young spies to maintain peace in Northern Song Dynasty. This is nice! The whole cast of Season 1 was able to return and reunite to really film a real season 2! I still haven’t finished Season 1. LOL. Hear me out here, not that it’s bad, but I feel this type of drama requires one to reach a certain arc/moment for us to feel the magnetic pull and marathon the whole series. I’m still stuck somewhere around the first arc. xD

The misunderstanding between Bai Lingling and Yang Lanhang gradually resolved, and the two fought side by side, tackling tough issues, and sympathized with each other.

Along the way, she finds herself surrounded by a group of passionate individuals, rewriting the world of publishing, social media, magazine, and etc.

Fall In Love With A Scientist (当爱情遇上科学家) with Jasper Liu and Zhou Yu Tong wrapped up filming after 79 days. Adapted from the novel written by Ye Luo Wu Xin, the story follows our heroine’s confusing romance with two guys but he is really just one person. She meets him first as her online friend, supporting and developing feelings (while he’s living in the US) for a long while. Abandoning his bright future, he returns to China, hoping to finally meet her, but she has finally given up on this “online romance” thinking it’s better to live in reality. She blacklists his username in their chatroom. They meet again at a university and he’s now known as a black bellied scientist teaching as a professor, considered a dream man for all the female students. As she spends more time with her professor, learning, doing experiments, her feelings for him grow, rendering her a confused mess – does she still like her online friend? or has her love for her professor grown far more deeper? She finally meets up with her online friend and confronts her feelings for her professor. Same man. Lol. But their teacher-student relationship is frowned upon in society and she quits school, deciding to go study abroad in Japan. And it is there that they resolve all their pent-up feelings over the years.
