Begin Again (从结婚开始恋爱) is an upcoming modern cdrama which sets up our domineering female CEO with a warm-hearted doctor. Our female lead has everything – wealth, looks, and talents but as she nears her thirties, she’s pressured to settle down by her family so the handsome and gentle doctor becomes her target. She begins scheming her way into marrying him. The trailers are quite steamyyyyy! Oh boi! Baidu says it’s adapted from a Thai novel which was made into a drama called Samee Ngern Phon in 2001 and a Thai remake again in 2016.
Here you go! Updates on webdramas that release on Valentine’s Day for people who just want to cuddle under a warm blanket like me! I have written about them before so if you want to read the previous posts, just click on the drama name in the tag line.
Adapted from the comic The Distance of Light Between You and Me (我与你的光年距离), the official English title is Long For You, an upcoming youth romance featuring Song Wei Long (Demon Girl 2, Feng Qiu Huang) and Zhou Yu Tong (The Journey). Our heroine is a special girl because she’s an immortal; living for thousand of years has desensitized her compassion and she’s frosty and indifferent in the inside despite the bright smiles that play on her lips. She lives with the goal of finding her first love a thousand years ago… and at the end of 2016, she meets a man carrying her love’s face but his love is different than that of the former, rekindling her passion and enthusiasm for life, and perhaps unraveling the knot many centuries ago. Because she desires an eternal love, their love story adapts and changes accordingly.
The trailers definitely suggest a dark revengey romance. (He stabs her?!)
(This post sat in the draft section for 8 months, I totally forgot about it! Shame on you K!)
Ma Ke is still hot on that iron! His next drama to air, The Journey, is adapted from the novel Journey to Seek Past Reincarnations (寻找前世之旅) written by Vivibear. I tried reading the novel but heck, the male lead is never to be found. Turns out he doesn’t appear until the 3rd story. The storyline reminds me of Hua Xu Yin a little. Our female lead is raised by a mysterious master who doesn’t age. They reside in a mysterious tea house, where only those fated to see can visit and task them with commissions. Those commissions are related to their past lives and they come to seek help on resolving the dilemmas of this life. Our heroine is taught the ability to time-travel through time to different dynasties, and in each story, she causes heartaches (to herself) and to the men she meets. The only price to pay is a single tear. Will she be able to solve her own past regrets?
Beside Ma Ke, we also have second male lead in Fu Xin Bo and female lead in Zhou Yu Tong.
