Li Geng Xi gets on the Wrong Carriage but lands the Right Groom with Huang Jun Jie in Truth or Dare
Call me a nerd but I love it when I can put the name of the drama (or in this case, the old version) fits seamlessly in the post title (but quite ironic with HJJ’s situation 😛 )! Truth or Dare (花好月又圆) is touted as the drama remake of the period comedy in 2001 Wrong Carriage, Right Groom (上错花轿嫁对郎).
Plot According to Yoyo Youtube: A story that follows two couples who mistakenly find themselves in a marriage they never expected and gradually grow in love and trust over time. The cheerful and clever Xiao Wan Zi grew up as a street performer with her dad selling their special skill of breaking a big stone on the chest. An unexpected encounter utterly changes Xiao Wan Zi’s life. Xiao Wan Zi who neither knew how to read nor write suddenly finds herself becoming a princess. Opposed to marrying the princess, Mei San Shao pushes Xiao Wan Zi away in hopes that she’d willingly retreat. Meanwhile, the king has arranged a marriage for Lu Ying Yao, the daughter of the 9th prince. However, bandit Xiao Bao Ye mistakenly takes her as his wife.
I’m quite surprised this drama decided to air considering Huang Jun Jie’s personal scandal, which forced him to quietly take a break from his acting career since April of this year.
Airing 6/8~
New stills for Novoland: Pearl Eclipse with Yang Mi and William Chan as the drama wrapped up filming
Another drama wrap-up! Novoland: Pearl Eclipse (九州·斛珠夫人) is adapted from the novel written by Xiao Ru Qin and stars Yang Mi and William Chan. Yang Mi plays daughter of the merfolks and her entire village and people are slaughtered due to the people’s obsession with pearls and pearls were created from merfolk’s tears. During this uncertain period, our heroine is taken in by the hero who is a powerful official of the imperial court, and she disguises as a male disciple by his side. After they return to the capital, the job of guarding the King is given to her. And he’s the third leg of this love triangle. The King has long given up on his court, exhausted by the internal and external turmoils, therefore he sits back and watches our male lead’s struggle to save the country. When he finds out his pretty guard is a girl, his feelings complicate everything.
First Impression: What do you think of Zhu Yi Long’s The Lost Tomb Reboot Season 1?
The Lost Tomb Reboot (重启之极海听雷) is the latest addition to the tomb-related franchise starring Zhu Yi Long, Mao Xiao Tong, Huang Jun Jie (as Qi Ling), Hu Jun, Chen Ming Hao, and Baron Chen. Our three musketeers are drawn back to adventures in the dark with a message from Mr. Wu.
Season 1 has 32 episodes. So I guess the whopping episode count is due to the fact they will be splitting the series into multiple seasons?
Airing today 7/15!

Truth or Dare: Period comedy remake of Wrong Carriage, Right Groom with Huang Jun Jie and Li Geng Xi
Truth or Dare (花好月又圆) is touted as the drama remake of the period comedy in 2001 Wrong Carriage, Right Groom (上错花轿嫁对郎) with Nie Yuan and Huang Yi. The new version announces Huang Jun Jie (Dr. Cutie) and Li Geng Xi (A Little Reunion). The drama follows two women who are set to marry on the same day. Due to the heavy rain, both bridal carriages stop at a temple, making the two girls befriend each other in the short time they spent together. However, they later get on the wrong carriage and are brought home to unexpected turnouts. From the title, I think it’s a happy twist of events that they meet the right groom after all. I haven’t watched the original drama but my mom loved it. She loves Huang Yi in almost everything. Lol. And guess what, author Xi Juan also wrote the novel-turned-drama adaptation Cuo Dian Yuan Yang with Zhao Li Ying.
The original is available on youtube without English subs. I have only managed to find Episode 1 and 2 subbed by Kaparin An (link).
Ok, having said all that, erase what I just told you. Lol. This new version is based LOOSELY inspired by the novel as I scanned the new synopsis and it resembles nothing of the old version. Female lead is basically a wanderer who performs tricks on the streets to earn money for a living. At a chance encounter, she’s mistaken as the princess and married to a rich master played by Huang Jun Jie. The second female lead is a princess and she’s brought to the mountains (or somewhere else) by second male lead (a bandit no less!) who thinks she’s his bride-to-be. This sounds too comical!!
Friday Photoshoots: Sun Qian, Huang Jun Jie, Ariel Lin, Nana Ou-Yang, and Zack Zhang
I’m scraping for news. Lol. But I do realize two things: 1) This is the perfect time to air your cdramas! Folks are at home, resting and tuning into shows. 2) I can actually catch up on dramas!
First Impression: What do you think of Dr. Cutie with Sun Qian and Huang Jun Jie?
This looks mighty cute. First half of the trailer is all rom-com material, then the latter half turns melo. Our heroine is a cross-dressed doctor who is later transferred into Mansion Ji and gets assigned to work under the handsome general Ji Heng. The tricky part is….her family was all executed years ago and she eventually finds out it was on his order (while being entangled in a love triangle with his brother). Dun, dun, dun!
Took me a while to recognize where I have seen our male lead from, he debuted in Fox in the Screen as the white fox and then in The Big Boss! xD
Started airing today 1/18!
