Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui form an alliance through marriage in costume drama Blossom

How many more Blossom-named dramas can they fit in for 2024? 😛

Blossom is adapted from the novel Jiu Chong Zi/Deep Purple (九重紫) written by Zhi Zhi, who also wrote The Sword and The Brocade. This is another second chance type of novel.

Synopsis per Wetv: After losing her mother at a young age, Dou Zhao faces family turmoil and a harsh fate that leaves her disillusioned with love and kinship. Determined to protect herself, she outsmarts her scheming stepmother, secures her inheritance, and retreats to a remote estate to study and rebuild her life. One stormy night, she encounters Song Mo, a nobleman in disguise, and helps him protect the descendants of the Duke of Dingguo. Their destinies become intertwined. Amid Song Mo’s family mysteries and Dou Zhao’s struggles against malicious rumors, the two form an alliance through marriage to weather their respective crises. What begins with suspicion evolves into mutual trust and affection as they face challenges together. As political storms brew, they join forces to uncover the truth behind the Duke of England’s family secrets, thwart a rebellion, clear loyal officials of wrongful accusations, and safeguard the nation. Together, they reclaim their families’ honor and find happiness on their terms.

Official images and trailer for Blossom with Meng Zi Yi and Li Yun Rui

Blossom is adapted from the novel Jiu Chong Zi/Deep Purple (九重紫) written by Zhi Zhi, who also wrote The Sword and The Brocade. This is another second chance type of novel. After our heroine dies in her first life, she realizes she has overlooked many things. She wakes up in her toddler years. It’s strange to me how a lot of novels want their main characters to go back in time to when they are a baby. Quite useless, no? They don’t even have control of their bladder yet. 🤦 As for our male lead, he has brewing troubles within his own family, hostile relationship with his dad, which results in many deaths.

Youhug’s description: The first daughter of the Dou family, Dou Zhao, who was abandoned by her husband, was accidentally reborn. She gets to know Song Mo, who is carrying a family grudge. Together they save their families from destruction, vindicate the unjust cases of loyal officers and keep the country in peace.

Drama is still filming.

Young Blood Season 2 with Zhang Xin Cheng, Zhou Yu Tong, and Wang You Shuo confirms air date

And the saga continues for our six young spies to maintain peace in Northern Song Dynasty. This is nice! The whole cast of Season 1 was able to return and reunite to really film a real season 2! I still haven’t finished Season 1. LOL. Hear me out here, not that it’s bad, but I feel this type of drama requires one to reach a certain arc/moment for us to feel the magnetic pull and marathon the whole series. I’m still stuck somewhere around the first arc. xD

To Fly With You with Song Zu Er and Wang An Yu to air

To Fly With You (陪你逐风飞翔) is an upcoming drama about ice-skating!

Synopsis from Viki: Shen Zheng Yi (Song Zu Er) is a young female student with a passion for ice skating. She dreams of becoming a champion short-track speed skater, but as she has never trained in the sport, she knows she is already behind where she should be if she is ever to become a champion at the highly demanding sport. Her mother is also bitterly opposed to her taking up the sport. So Shen Zheng Yi decides to defy her mother and join an ice skating club anyway. She finds herself under the wing of a promising figure skater named Zhuang Yue (Wang An Yu).

Training with Zhuang Yue is no picnic, and learning how to perform on the short track is both physically and mentally grueling. But as she slowly builds up her confidence, both Shen Zheng Yi and her coach begin to understand that she might just have the grit, determination, and skill she needs to succeed at the highest level. Her passion also inspires Zhuang Yue to overcome his own demons on the ice rink…and the two start to develop deeper emotions for one another. But with a key competition on the horizon and her mother still hoping to thwart Shen Zheng Yi’s sporting plans, will her ice-skating dreams of victory ever come true?

This sounds like Skate Into Love… I do like the cast of both dramas though. 😛

Airing 11/22~
