Lol I watched the first 24 hours episode and the Happy Camp episode with Wallace Chung last night! Wallace is soo funny and the show was pretty good~~ Jia Nai Liang was just thrown in there and Wu Yi was pretty cute (not that I know of him besides Happy Camp but he pretty much just shows up randomly throughout Happy Camp episodes). I have a new outlook on Sun Yi Zhou and his antics LOL. The creepy boxes where you have to touch them though…I swear they gave the “Happy Camp” team the more disgusting and creepier items. Lol The General and I team was probably going to win from the start. Xie Na is so insane though! How did she guess all those numbers right on point??? It seems Xie Na really understands He Jiong~~~~
24 hours is off to a good start… I think part of the entertainment appeal is that some of the team is working against the rest of the team secretly…plus Wu Lei is still in it lol. But that tall guy…is his name Dong Li? I feel like I’ve seen him before which is somewhat strange…but his face looks really familiar. He looked like Liu Hao Ran for a split second before reverting back. I swear I’m going blind :/ Ady An though eliminated so many people I was kinda surprised people didn’t realize it was her. As for the last remaining person on the “Good Team” (I forget her name since I always know her as Holdzhu Jie), how could she not have realized that Han Geng was a spy? OMG I could not believe that Zhang Meng figured out who all the spies were in the very beginning. Gosh if she had just said Ady An’s name ONE more time, Ady An would have been eliminated T_T. 24 hours was the only show I actually watched fully last year even though it spiraled downwards since a lot of the last episodes were scripted :/
Omg for Crime Scene though, I was so glad that Gui Gui was NOT in the second official episode with the actual case although it got a little boring without her. She’s a little annoying though esp in the first episode. I had no problem with her last year but I didn’t watch the full Crime Scene episodes 😛 I swear though that there’s no balance between more Gui Gui and less Gui Gui. Either you have her and it’s annoying, or you don’t and it gets bland. Is it just me or is “Sa” (the other host guy besides He Jiong) a pervert? Always clinging onto the girls.
Ooh Glory of Tang looks really good though! I was only able to grasp a few min to watch a few snippets but the colors look great and I really ship the OTP. And 3L3W looks pretty good as well! Zhang Bin Bin for the win! (What’s his character like?)

Ahhh I just searched up Dong Li in AVV and apparently he’s a fencing athlete….well I still dunno where I saw him before T_T
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Dong Li is Alalei’s father on Dad where are we going season 4, maybe that’s why he looks familiar – he’s been on Happy Camp too
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
He was in Dad where are we going (chinese version), latest season (4?). He was an “intern dad” aka not a real dad and basically borrowed someone else’s kid to do the show. I don’t think he’s really been around in the entertainment industry before that, except maybe his appearance on Happy Camp (before the variety shows) around the time of the Olympics.

Only watch General & I. Wish to watch more, but no English subtitles for those dramas i am interested to watch

Lol the drinking scene! Alan Yu Meng Long looks so scared and hopeful every time the director yelled cut.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Rant freely?! Mkaay ..
Anyone seen the latest 3w3l episodes?
Wtf, people?!!! What normal person sleeps with snakes in her bed? Also, in what situation do you think it’s normal to sneak in a stranger’s bed and sleep in it night after night without them knowing?
How is this in any way romantic and not disturbing ?!
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Ye Hua is supposed to be a dragon not snake. It’s weird how they created the storyline for him and Su su. It’s just weird ???? and creepy. To be honest, Mark is quite good. Yang Mi is the main reason I have been avoiding their scenes ??. She doesn’t have a variety of facial expressions.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
I was waiting for more episodes before I start but isn’t the storyline between YeHua and SuSu part of the novel too, though they didn’t go in depth into it.
The comment about Yang Mi is making me not wanna watch the drama now… I was never fond of Yang Mi’s acting because it always feels the same, and she is the female lead with loads on her shoulders in this drama especially, if she doesn’t do well, the drama goes down w it…
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Yang Mi being Yang Mi is to be expected. Though, tbh, I prefer her as BQ much more than as SS or as SY. But the big surprise from 3w3l was actually Mark. I’ve seen only one of his previous shows (Black&White) and he seemed much better at emoting in it.
Dilireba is adorable. Vengo is sort of – mehhh. For some reason I keep confusing the lady who married the hot demon prince and the goddess that desperately wants to be YH’s concubine. Also, no chance ever for me to manage to make any difference between all the gods and goddesses unless they are color coded. Vengo and YH are easy, the Heavenly Emperor is too (weird head piece) but everybody else – noope. Plus, they are super boring, I prefer her sect brothers. 🙂
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
But in the novel, Ye Hua does turn into a snake after defeating the beast–according to the text, he didn’t want to be showy. He did find the SuSu familiar when he first met her, recognizing her voice as the voice that “woke” him when she was trying to revive Mo Yuan. In his snake form, he even thought SuSu was ignorant for keeping a snake as a pet and keeping him in her bed. Pretty much what we saw transpire when he was in his snake form and turning back into his human form at night in her bed is written in the novel!
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Ah my bad. I didn’t enjoy their book so I might skip that part as I only remember him being a dragon ?
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
I just finished reading the novel and the drama follows it closely which I like.
This is fantasy novel not what’s happening in this century… so there isn’t anything strange about it
I grew up reading many fantasy like that
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
About the snake part, i too find it gross n hell no no no! I was hoping for a cute dragon.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
with such a script like sleeping with a snake, I don’t know which actress we would not call her crazy to do such a thing. The writer is wrong, it would have been much more romantic if it was like the perverted Zeus who turned into a cuckoo to take advantage of Hera.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
But this is… how the original novel is. I don’t really get the complaint on the writer. So she is supposed to make it up to please you when it doesn’t follow actual story?
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
The snake was very computerized, but if you realize, real snakes are not for pets so it is pretty wrong. I’m not saying they shouldn’t follow the original story, the original story shouldn’t have been like that in the first place, like….there are other appropriate animals but she picked a snake. Well, if it was something like YM is very afraid of the snake at first but the snake helps her and she warms up to it as a pet then yeah….but YM, not even startled when seeing a snake (even an injured one), save it, kiss it, and even took it to bed…what on earth? Not a single suspicion that it can be harmful, it’s just that it’s a drama world, but absolutely not a recommended thing for realistic people.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
@yoyo_oy I think you have your standard that doesn’t match with the characters
BQ isn’ afraid of anything even in her moral form, TT. She was the only one who dared to steal her master’s body in immoral world and wasn’t afraid to see black dragon like most people around her. YH did mention that the plan “scaring her won’t work”
It’s not a stretch that she is petting a snake, given her personality, if you actually understand it. But here you put yourself – a normal person with probably normal and modern characteristic to a character like BQ/TT
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
And this is a fantasy drama with immoral and demon world but you talk about realistic people? lol
If this is a modern drama I’d understand. But it’s the exact opposite
It’s better stop nitpicking, relax and enjoy the show.
Or even better if you could understand the characters a bit more.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
I didn’t expect to like 3L3W but I enjoyed it more and more that I tried to find and read the original novel.
And I’m even happier to see the drama is following the novel closely.
YM is YM, this is my 1st time watch Mark and he has done such a good jobs for both roles. Will keep an eye on him in the future
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Only watch 3L3W for Dong hua and Feng jiu ????
I have been replaying their scenes for countless times as this is the only drama I have been watching (well skimming).
Waiting for Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young ???
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
@Haha – it’s a good thing you’re watching for Dong Hua and Feng Jiu (I am too! Dilireba is so spot on I can’t even…), but I am also watching for Siming! You guys can fight for Ye Hua and Dong Hua all you want, I’ll take Siming, thank you very much! Also, wish TangQi would hurry up and write the novel about Lian Song and Cheng Yu because I really want to know what happened.
@Tranzgeek – I used to watch Crime Scene as well, but then the show got really pervy and less fun/intense. I’ve fallen asleep through both episodes of the second season so far. I prefer the Korean version. The cases are also better and less fanservice-y in the Korean version. And when they’re funny, they’re funny, and not pervy or product placement-ing.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
@atsu_chan, my Chinese is very limited hahaha, that’s why I can only appreciate the visuals ??
But, even with my limited Chinese, Siming is entertaining. I am waiting for him to be Feng Jiu’s partner in crime to take down Dijun ????.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
@Haha, atsu-chan, man oh man, it’s going to take eons before we get more screen time of Feng Jiu & Donghua, right now she has sort of successfully entered the palace……but, she’s in for a long time of pain ahead 🙁 (that princess/adopted sister of his, other maids and adding the face that Donghua’s really tsundre….XD) Donghua really does fit the name Ice Face (lol), && what I heard is that she didn’t start the book about Lian Song& Cheng Yu is because she wants to rest/sleep more (?) or something like, I also heard it was going to wayyyy “darker” (aka, more depressing) then Pillow Book if she ever gets to writing it lol, she already said Pillow Book was way too sweet (I disagree, Fengjiu’s waterfall of tears could be saved lol). I’d find it funny if she ever gets to writing it though…Lian Song’s (playboy and gossip) personality isn’t going to win points with Cheng Yu at all XD
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
@Haha – who doesn’t watch for the visuals? I sure do!! 🙂 I’m so glad that the adaptation kept a lot of the humor.
@aw – I love the scene where Liansong was advising Zhiyue to change her goal. Zhiyue said something like, “He’s not a rock. He’ll see how good I am to him and understand my feelings,” and Liansong was like O_O “But he is a rock. Nobody knows where he popped out from. He may very well have popped out from a rock.”
I need a Liansong x Chengyue book asap. Hopefully she’ll do that soon! I would love for Tang7 to go dark because I just don’t think her prose style goes very dark. Pillow Book wasn’t that dark for me but pretty dramatic and kind of depressing because our poor FJ suffers so much. But seriously Dilireba is like the gosh darn cutest thing ever. Even though it’s CGI I love it when her tails pop out…SO CUTE!
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Noooo save a bit of Siming for me, just a bit lol
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Lol I might be giving up on Crime Scene soon @atsu-chan. Like you said, no action, and very little purposefully created humor. I’ll be picking up 3L3W soon so I really hope it’s good (adaptation standard wise)!!
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
I LOVED the first seven episodes of Glory of the Tang Dynasty. The main girl is very likeable, especially at the early episodes. It’s still pretty good after those initial episodes but now it’s very much like most other palace dramas with all the same tropes. The chemistry is average to slightly above average, definitely watchable. One thing that I’m liking is that the main guy and the main girl aren’t behaving like lovesick puppies who have nothing else on their agenda! I hate it when the main couple just becomes engrossed in their love for each other and have that drive the story, hopefully, this drama doesn’t go down that path.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Currently watching 3L3W and skimming through General and I… 3L3W has its downfalls, but I like both main leads, so I’ll continue for now. General and I.. Just waiting for them to be reunited… T_T
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Just finished with Pretty Li Huizhen and found it to be a fun watch. Watching Three Lives Three Worlds Peach Blossom Fate (is that how you translate it?) right now. It’s kinda funny, but the episodes don’t seem to come out regularly on Youtube. Do you guys know what the schedule is?
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
M-F is 2 epis/day, whereas on Sat and Sun, it’s only 1ep/day. Check for the epis on Croton Media’s Mega Hit Official youtube channel. The epis get placed on there by 9AM-10AM Pacific Time Zone each day.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
I’ve let Glory of Tang Dynasty consume my life, basically. Cliched palace drama but the leads’ chemistry is growing. Also, I can’t believe Allen Ren Jia Lun is a newbie. He’s doing pretty well for a newbie. Haha.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
I decided to go in the vaults and rewatched two of my favorite Zhang Han dramas- Boss and Me and now Let’s Go Meteor Shower again. Chinese version of Boys Before Flowers. It has been a delightful kick back weekend. Also finished Scarlet Heart, (Chinese version) and I am waiting for Snow Girl, the drama you previewed a few days ago. ??? love your blog !
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
“Love In A Life Time” is beautiful in all version. Love this song!
(looking forward to the drama ver)
Currently on LOCH, 3L3W, Glory of Tang, and Zero: Dragon Blood (good stuff!) Things have been hectic recently so I haven’t been watching much, but I plan to continue soon.
Also, adding Magic Star to that list. Hectic schedule or not. 😀
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Cool, looking forward to trying Zero. On the other hand, you should definitely try out Magic Star since you might like it, but generally I wouldn’t recommend it…at least not past a certain few eps.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Yes, Zero is completely different from anything out right now. I’m not sure if you’ll like it, but I’m liking it. It’s fast pace with plenty of action. The visuals are quite nice too. Sadly it only airs 1 ep a week, and the eps are 25 min each. Only 5 ep are out so far. I do recommend giving it a try, it’s different.
I’ll check out Magic Star. I don’t expect much, but it seems ok. Hopefully.

Finishing up ‘General and I’ for the lead’s chemistry and their adorable kid.
Up next would probably be ‘Eternal love.’

Anyone knows where to watch glory of dynasty tang with engsub? I dunno if i should watch yangmi again after les interpret hmm..
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
i tried to watch Neung Nai Suang with james and yaya but its so boring… lols…
i want her to pair up with james ma next!! they are so adorable together!! after her and nadech of course. hahah
kdrama i finished weight lifting fairy, so cute, so heart-warming. totally changed my mind about the male lead now. i didn’t like him at all in that twins drama with kim so hyun at all.
interesting most people like yang mi in les interpreter until the storyline got cookoo. lols.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Then have you watched Kon La Kop Fah? Starring by Great and Chippy Sirin. Pretty good.
If you havent watched Tam rak, give it a try. No slap kiss. But pretty good with good chemistry and storyline, but you know, somewhat draggy in the last episodes but still fine.
agree about weightlifting fairy… but nam joo hyuk is still so-so for me. He’s good as puppy boyfriend but for a serious acting, hmm.. let’s see. i heard he’s gonna play male lead in tvn upcoming drama.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
i did watch Kon La Kop Fah cause i love great and his smile!! the storyline is not that exciting but i love all the real life lessons about drinking, depression, and getting help. amazed at their public discussion of these issues.
nam joo hyuk is still raw hence i think he does good with harmless puppy roles.

Watching Three Lives Three Worlds 10 Mi Peach Blossoms, LoCH still (although its slow updates makes me forget about it), and strangely enough back to General and I.
Tbh I find General and I really not good at all, but Wallace is so addicting, and I like a lot of the side characters like Zui Jv, Chang Xiao, Moran, and (unfortunately for my heart) Ze Yin too. I usually don’t really feel the appeal for the Wallaces, but in this case, I finally see why Wallace is so smexy. He emotes so well and just really embodies Chu Bei Jie (I mean, not really completely by book characterisation, but he’s still a pretty hot and lovable version). Plus, I can’t help it — I’m bored and scared of being hurt by Glory of Tang feels. (I’m hesitating at ep 7 for Glory. Tbh, because I still like it and didn’t stop because I’m dropping it, it’s still opened in my tabs…BUT I just can’t bring myself to continue after watching a boatload or spoiler-y mv’s and promos due to the flood of tears and angst I know is coming)
On the other hand, I had REALLY low expectations for 3L3W, but it’s really quite entertaining. I won’t say it’s good cuz there are so many small issues that I could nitpick for days, but somehow it really has an oomph factor that I can’t help but be addicted and entertained. Prob because Tang Qi is my guilty pleasure in that I know she’s morally reprehensible and I hate that she plagiarized so much, but I can’t help but like her characters and universe setting and side characters too. Tbh she has such poor writing style, but this is one case where I’m glad they adapted it cuz I can’t bear to sit through the wordy books but love the content enough that I still wanna watch and be immersed in the 3L3W universe. I LOVE Feng Jiu and Dong Hua (tbh, Vengao REALLY doesn’t have much of the DongHua thick-skinned, lol-feel; honestly he’s kind of like a semi likable person who seems to embody some weird corrupt-prime-minister-beside-the-king feel. But still, Feng Jiu is so cute chasing after him and somehow they do have chemistry IMO), and Mark Zhao is surprisingly good, I think. I wasn’t expecting much from him, and tbh he has few expressions and emoting ability. But somehow he still kind of makes me like him? It’s hard to explain. Yang Mi def does feel a little weird at times in character, and she’s MUCH better as Bai Qian than Su Su, BUT I kind of do like her as a character and how she’s portrayed…outside her so-far-unconvincing lovelines. Lol. I think they should just make this the “daily-lives-of-the-immortals-vlog-version” and I’d totally love it. Honestly my fav part is the setup universe and the details about how their immortal world works anyways, so I don’t have too many issues with it so far (+ low expectations is a good way to go about facing dramas nowadays).

I love this post!!! I just binged Signal today, i know it’s not chinese but it’s SO AWESOME.. Then I watched the American equivalent, which was Frequency. Yes, I enjoy time-travel dramas, maybe that’s why there aren’t as many chinese dramas about it.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Signal is still my fave drama all time, alongside with nirvana in fire.
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Signal is on my to-watch list for sure! Heard so many good things about it. 😀

Ruco Chan looking fine there in that moustache-beard.
Zhu Yi Long, oh Zhu Yi Long when will you get the girl and don't die so tragic (and in such a beautiful way lol)?
Yeeeeessss Si Yin slap them all!!! Wooosh woosh LOL
I'm pretty hype for King's Woman since Zhang Bin Bin will get the girl… I hope?
Stuff I'm watching: 3L3W (i'm behind since last week was exam week)
Gintama – anime
Tomorrow with You (korean), Rebel (korean sageuk)… I'm waiting for Park Bo Young's drama. I need more dramas with tiny females kicking butt!!

park bo young is so adorable in the new teaser. link below!
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Yes it’s out frea! So far episode one is okay, but episode 2 really picks things up and answers some stuff about time-traveling. I think both leads are doing quite well in their roles.
Awwww, thank you for sharing that teaser. I can feel the chemistry <3
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Q Series: Life Plan A & B (TW): 3/6 episodes. It’s a solid watch, but despite the short length the story paces itself rather slowly, so I’ve been progressing through the episodes about as slowly, too. (Since I normally stick to c-dramas, the 1.5 hr episode lengths aren’t doing it for me, so I end up stopping whenever I feel like it mid-episode and picking up from there.) I enjoy the contemplative tone, realistic characterization, as well as the twist and turns throughout the two different lives. I can’t call this a favorite or anything, but would definitely be happy to revisit a drama exploring a similar concept.
Candle In The Tomb (2/21): So far so good! Everything is on point. I love Jane Zhang’s ending theme, how short each ep is, Hu Bayi and Pangzi are likable characters so far, and overall far better than
The Lost Tomb, despite my love for Yang Yang which couldn’t salvage that messwhat I expected. It’s definitely something to get me hooked into the grave-robbing genre. The Glory of Tang Dynasty (8/60): This show! (It’s the reason why I’m behind on the other shows I’m perusing.) Yes, it’s chock-full of your typical romance and period palace tropes, but I LOVE palace dramas like LZH so I’m definitely hooked. So far I’m actually really loving the political developments too — the history is fascinating (but so angstyyyy). And the OTP! Both Jing Tian and Allen Ren actually fairly impressed me, though Li Chu’s action/fight scenes are really on the cringy side, and maybe some drama could have been avoided if Zhen Zhu actually bothered to communicate (esp. regarding her family’s massacre)?! There are flaws to nitpick on but I’m too fond of this show to care.
(Despite my liking for Wallace Chung, it wasn’t enough to keep me watching General And I, and The Glory of Tang was basically the perfect excuse for me to drop that show.)
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Kinda had General & I on hold at episode 10 for the longest time, but when I sneak peak at later episodes it seems much better. Heard it starts slow but gets better..just for it to drag some more before getting to good parts again. Wallace Chung is what keeps most people watching seems like, while Angelababy is having the opposite effect – no matter how pretty she is. At least their non-existent chemistry in the beginning got taken care of as the show went on.
Currently watching 3W3L and honestly I’m hooked. It’s far from the perfect drama, but gets the job done. Can’t figure if Mark Zhao is expressionless or that’s just his character, yet he’s doing it for me. On the other hand, Yang Mi isn’t terrible but I don’t think she’s the best girl for the job. However their great chemistry just might be the saving grace for the leads, as I lowkey flutter over their interactions XD The best fit so far is probably Zhang Bin Bin as Li Jing/ hot demon prince though -this guy is becoming rather relevant lately, and for good reason. Was pleasantly surprised by how good of an actor he is, at first glance I didn’t think he would be more than a pretty boy.
Never read the novel, but I want more Li Jing in this drama!! even tho it’s gonna be all about the OTP
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
For someone who read the novel, he is perfect for the role- an old soul.
And while it’s subtle you can feel the difference between 2 characters.
For what I notice movie actors are a lot more natural and subtle than the drama’s ones
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
Watching General & I, Pretty Li Huizhen, Legend of Condor Heros (Hu Ge & Ariel Lin).
Does Tribes & Empires have a air date yet ?
57 thoughts on “Drama-Binging: What Are You Watching? (2)”
“Three Lives Three Worlds Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms” is a surprisingly good. This is the only Chinese fantasy drama that I actually can’t wait for new episodes. Mark Chao got insane presence. I cannot take my eyes off him whenever he appears. He is that good. I don’t know why you guys have beef with dragon/snake/human Ye Hua and Su Su sleeping together, I thought they are the cutest pair ever. Between his straight face scheming and her adorable seriousness, I just can’t get enough of them.
“Close Your Eyes Before It’s Dark” is hands down the best Taiwanese mystery drama I’ve watched. I am so addicted.

Currently finishing General and I (just because of Wallace Chung and the kid). Skipping through all the scenes that doesn’t feature either of them. They changed the storyline from the book so much it’s annoying (not to mention doesn’t make sense)
Really enjoying 3L3W. The scenery is pretty and the storyline pretty much follows the book. Mark Zhao is a way better actor than I remember and is doing so well as Ye Hua. Dilireba is perfect as Feng Jiu but unfortunately they didn’t buy the rights to Pillow Book so the Dong Hua/ Feng Jiu storyline has to be changed (only the parts that are mentioned in Peach Blossom book can be shown on screen, everything else must be different due to copyright).
