Gu Long’s The Lost Swordship gets drama adaptation with Wu You and Ren Yan Kai

The Lost Swordship (飘香剑雨) or literal translation Flowing Fragrance Sword Rain is the drama adaptation of Gu Long’s novel. His stories are less famous than Jin Yong and not everyone is familiar with these titles, even I have to say I didn’t watch the older movie adaptation in 1978! The new version has Ren Yan Kai (Yes! Mr. Fashion) and Wu You (Because of You) as the leads. From Amazon reviews, it’s a story about the mysterious martial arts clan: “The Sky Clan is a deadly cult. Their masked leader, known as The Bishop wants to rule the Martial Arts world. He has killed most of the top fighters of the other factions, only the long lost fragrant sword style has escaped his clan’s grasp. Swordsman Lu Nan-Jen (Tien Peng) is the heir to the fragrant sword style and is now the main target of the Sky Clan. Using all his cunning and skill, Lu Nan-Jen manages to fend off all The Bishop’s legions of fighters and swordsmen who want to capture him.”

Gu Long’s Handsome Siblings (Juedai Shuangjiao) gets new drama remake in 2017

A lot of new adaptations of older series, hold on to your heart! I have watched two versions of this novel before but lord, I didn’t know they have so many adaptations, dated back to 1977. However, their fate is to fight each other to the death according to one evil woman.

Spotlight: Wu Jing’s Wolf Warriors 2 surpasses The Mermaid, and how I knew of him in TV series

GAHH. I’m so happy for Jacky Wu Jing! Feels like crying right now for his success; if the movie didn’t do well, he would have suffered financially since he risked his personal savings (house deed, etc) because of the lack of funding in the beginning (hiding it from his wife too!) I do have a soft spot for martial artists actors and always feel like they are not appreciated enough in TV series these days hence most move on to doing action movies. Just like Ashton Chen Xiao Long, still doing supporting roles here and there (leading roles in small productions), waiting for his big break. Anyway, Wolf Warriors 2 has surpassed The Mermaid, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time in China (after 12 days). Previously crowned, The Mermaid production posted a congratulations message on weibo and you can see Wu Jing’s meme in high-fiving a fish. Hehe! Aww! His success right now is the result of constant hard-work. He also kicked our Li Ying off the #1 spot on Vlinkage for some days. Lol.

Yang Rong, Hawick Lau’s The Legend of Flying Daggers to air

Good or bad news… With Hawick Lau‘s scandal still lingering, I feel bad for Yang Rong and the whole cast ensemble. Legend of the Flying Daggers is the fifth and final installment to Gu Long‘s Little Li Flying Dagger series. FYI, Zhu Yi Long’s Border Town Prodigal is the third installment. The novel follows Li Huai, Li Xun Huan’s grandson, as he wanders in jianghu to help the poor and uphold justice using his grandfather’s Little Li Dagger technique. How I wish Hawick could use those little daggers in real life and cut off the scandalous tail he has acquired for himself. Spare us and Yang Mi the pain. Lol.
