I’ve seen a bunch of videos criticizing the Wrong Carriage Right Groom reboot, so out of curiosity I went to watch the original on YouTube. The acting is certainly… exaggerated but I’ll chalk that up to a stylistic choice of that era.
Anyway I agree that the casting for the leads in the reboot is horrible. Tian Xi Wei is cute, yes, but it’s very hard to live up to Huang Yi who really nailed the sweet and dashing sides of Li Yu Hu.

I think TXW is very cute, i never watch the origional so cant compare. i feel like it’s the male lead that doesn’t do much for me.

I highlighted TXW because she’s the only actor I recognise lol, but yeah. Him too, he doesn’t have the gravitas you would expect from a well-bred young master.
