Zhao Li Ying becomes producer as The Legend of Shen Li begins filming

Impressive! I knew she was playing the female lead but she’s also listed as producer for The Legend of Shen Li (与凤行) at today’s booting ceremony! Hopefully, this means that she can have some control on reigning in the original novel story!

Based on the novel written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang (author of Ostentatious Zhao Yao, The Blue Whisper), The Legend of Shen Li follows the story of a strong-willed “Prince” of the demon world, Shen Li. To clarify, the “prince” here refers to our female lead, who is not blood-related to the demon royalty but a title given to her for her successes in battles and military prowess. Unluckily on her 1000th birthday, she receives a degree decree to get married to the Heavenly Emperor’s grandson, Fu Rong. The guy’s Casanova reputation forces her to run away. However, during her escape she’s injured and returns to her true form – a phoenix. The bad luck comes her way as she’s hunted down by a group of hunters. They pluck her golden feathers and sell her on the street vendor as a hairless chicken. LOL. That image is hella funny. She’s bought by a sickly scholar, who is actually a powerful God in Heaven who was bored (or whatever) and decided to enter the human realm with his memory intact. He can see that she’s a phoenix demon but doesn’t let her know about his knowledge or identity, in order to play tricks on her.

Director is Deng Ke (My Heroic Husband) and scriptwriter is given to Jiu Lu Fei Xiang (original novel author). Sounds good!

I read this rumor since last year and was hoping to get a new fresh pairing, but alas, my drama wish seems to never come true.

Love You Seven Times (Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes) wrapped filming with Ding Yu Xi and Yang Chao Yue

Sorry for the lack of updates guys, moving into a new place has completely taken over my life the past few weeks. The newfound freedom is great but the cleaning and organization is not!

Last I wrote about Love You Seven Times was in January of this year and now filming has wrapped and new promo videos and stills are also released! Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes All Thanks to a Moment of Impulse (一时冲动,七世不祥) is adapted from the novel written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. From my previous description: Female lead is a cloud fairy with no big ambition and spends her days preferably sleeping. Lol. She works for the stingy God of Moon (aka Yue Lao aka Matchmaker in Heaven) for very little money and intends on using that money to buy herself a fan. She’s napping peacefully one day when our male lead literally drops onto the carpet outside of the Moon’s temple. He asks for help in a disrespectful manner and has the audacity to try and whip her! Luckily…or in this case, unluckily, his whip ends up destroying her most coveted thing – her fan! Now he’s getting whooped. LOL. She ties up her hair, performs a measly spell to trap him, and then chomps on him with all her strength. 😛 He then pulls her hair! A full-on brawl takes place. In front of Jade Emperor, they are punished for messing up other people’s red strings of fate – by being sent to the mortal realm and experiencing 7 lifetimes of fated love. HOHOHO. As it turns out though, it was Yue Lao who messed up the strings the other day when he was drunk and our heroine is covering up for him. In the first lifetime, our girl smartly avoids having her memory wiped and swears to make the hero’s life a miserable existence. xD

Leaked photos of Ding Yu Xi and Yang Chao Yue filming for The Seventh Generation (Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes)

Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes All Thanks to a Moment of Impulse (一时冲动,七世不祥) is adapted from the novel written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. For some reason, they haven’t officially announced the leads but leaks are out!

The novel sounds wicked fun! Female lead is a cloud fairy with no big ambition and spends her days preferably sleeping. Lol. As it turns out though, it was Yue Lao who messed up the strings the other day when he was drunk and our heroine is covering up for him. In the first lifetime, our girl smartly avoids having her memory wiped and swears to make the hero’s life a miserable existence. HHAHAH. She’s good. I’m very tempted to continue the novel but I want to enjoy the little surprises in the drama too.

First Trailer and Stills for The Blue Whisperer with Dilraba Dilmurat and Ren Jia Lun

The Blue Whisper aka Yu Jiao Ji (驭鲛记 –> 与君初相识) is adapted from the novel by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. The drama follows after our hero – the unlucky merman, saved a princess and is then captured to be her pet. She wants to tame the merman and it is said that only those who are born with the power to tame demonic creatures can manage that and they are called demon masters (sorry not technical here). Demon masters are forced to live separately from their families per the imperial decree (to control and enslave them) and they are only allowed to live in four designated areas (north/south/east/west). The Princess’ eunuch transports the merman to the most renowned demon master in the south, where our heroine is currently residing and training. The princess wants the demon master to do three things in 3 months. 1) Make the merman speak 2) Turn his tail into legs 3) Make him eternally loyal to her.

And as such, the merman is subjected to daily torture and punishments for not doing what the demon masters want. At night, our heroine would sneak into his prison cell and tend to his wounds (T_T) There’s a scene where our heroine doesn’t want to force the merman to do things against his will and so she’s tortured (whipped) per the Princess’ order! Our heroine’s backstory is quite sad. On the outside, she’s the most beloved student of the Current Demon Master of the South, but demon valley has been nothing but a prison for her since she was sent there to train at a very young age under some not-so-pleasant “monthly” treatment that she can’t reveal to the outside world. Which is why she feels empathy for the imprisoned merman and wishes to help him escape, landing her into a lot of bloody messes.

Hou Ming Hao and Zhou Ye confirmed as leads for Back From the Brink (Heart Protection)

Back From the Brink (护心) is adapted from the novel Heart Protection written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. The story follows our female lead, who was supposed to die long ago but was saved thanks to the “heart protection” scales (I don’t know how to translate that, Lol) and energy pearl from an ancient dragon demon. She’s then luckily accepted as a disciple at Chen Xing Mountain under her shifu – Daoist Priest, Ling Xiao, to cultivate. However, she stirs up some troubles and is then expelled from the sect (the beginning of the novel). Looks like there’s some feelings between disciple and shifu too. Now without a home, our female wanders jianghu and is kidnapped to be someone’s bride. That someone is the ancient dragon demon whose body was dismembered by his previous lover (oucchhh!). He immediately recognizes his important jewels in her body. He pleads for her help and she reluctantly gives in, and together, they travel around to look for his body parts, hoping to make it whole again before the big day comes – a war between the immortals and demons (and a revenge!). What will happen if the return of his whole body means taking away the things keeping her alive?

Angsty!
