I thought I wrote about this drama but…. I didn’t. Weird… But here is another modern Cdrama coming your way this February (is this still considered as news anymore?), Fall In Love With You Again featuring Wang Luo Dan (The Virtuous Queen of Han) and Choi Siwon (The King of Dramas) as leads in a drama about second chances; learning from past mistakes or accepting the flaws of your loved one? A perfect theme for Valentine’s day. hee!

This is just a hunch, but I think fans of Battle of ChangSha will like this drama adaptation of The Ordinary World by Lu Yao. A book about the ordinary world full of extraordinary people? What’s not to like from that tagline? The story follows the lives of many families as they struggle against the sweeping changes in the rural areas of Northern China in the 1970s and 80s.

Ruby Lin wields a sword in Long Ballad with Yuan Hong
On a scale from 1 to 10, how happy am I to see Ruby doing something else other than a demure martyr? Unthinkable. heh. She has done that set of personality so many times I think she’s THE representative of female vase characters. In her latest drama and production, Long Ballad (unofficial title), adapted from a novel by Li Xin, she’s courageous and resolute. The novel originally had the female lead’s soul being transported back to the Xin Dynasty but this tiresome element has been removed in the drama. The heroine, Yin Li Hua, will fight side-by-side with her boo, commoner Liu Xiu (Yuan Hong) to restore the Han Dynasty with him ascending the throne. Along the way, alliances will come and go as the hot generals and advisors shower us with their abs. (Okay, I made that last part up…but they’re warriors, I don’t expect anything less!)

You know what I just realized? School begins next week. What’s worst? My schedule dictates that my classes/labs run 8-9 hours every day and I don’t get home until 8 at night. Scanning the schedule has sucked the life out of me. =/ This means updates will be scarce and many of you might ditch this love boat for a better ship. Anyway, away from my sobbing school life is a new Cdrama on your radar. It’s another novel-turned-drama adaptation, penned by Tang Qi Gong Zi, a writer known for fusing the past with the future meticulously in his fantasy romance novels. The premise of Hua Xu Yin revolves around a fallen princess, Ye Zhen, being revived by a magical pearl. Using the power from the pearl, she then travels the 9 states and helps people achieve their dreams. The male lead, Mu Yan, is the prince of the opponent country. My friends said the drama is based loosely on the novel, so many things are changed. And they aren’t happy.
First Look at Bu Bu Jing Xin Sequel: Why?
Milking the cash cow, of course. And because you guys didn’t shed enough suicidal tears the first round. 😛 But why would you call it a sequel if the storyline screams I am not thy brother! Stop clinging!? Moreover, half the cast members are significantly missing. Might as well give it a fresh name. Kevin Cheng and Yuan Hong are busy laughing it off in Hua Xu Yin, with the former looking odd and sporting blue highlights. But the two are in talks for guest appearances, so yay? Han Dong is in almost every big productions but not here. After his dispute with Tangren, you won’t be seeing 14th Prince Lin Geng Xin either.

Came across this set of photos on Baidu a few days ago and I wonder, there must be some Yuan Hong fans around here. His selfless and loyal character as 13th Prince in Bu Bu Jing Xin still wrings at my heart. What a tragedy!
Fear no more gals, he’s back to his cheeky, dandy self in these pages. The guy needs a lead someone! Anyhow, his upcoming drama, Mulan, with Elanne Kong is still filming, and he plays a nerdy scholar in the army camp. This, I gotta see!
