    The Hunan TV ending is less emotional than the DVD version.  No great alternate ending there.  I still prefer the DVD ending better.

    i have bought dvds of chinese dramas before from yesasia. it's not comparable and excellent as fansub for sure. fansub takes the time to translate. each sentence is subtle with meaning.

    but i think it's worth the money cause everything looks pretty onscreen

    Thank you very much for the BBJX DVD cuts – sadly there are no soft subs – pity cos my children don't children don't understand Chinese either and without subs – very difficult for them to watch and understand. 

    I don't want them turning into an addict like Mom and spend hours sobbing over the keyboard – LOL!!!- so I prefer to dl for them.

    Just spent the last couple of days being a giant couch potatoe, lolz… but finally finished the series. It was a lovely storyline with a bittersweet ending (and big big hope that yu xi and shi ye re-find their love). Thanks for the tissue advice, some of the scenes you warned me about were so touching just typing is making me teary thinking back on them, haha…. (I blame the actors/actress' good acting skills and my bad tear ducts).

    Now I kinda have BBJX withdrawal symptoms.  Guess I'll have to spend the next couple days slowly trying to recover by re-watching my favorite scenes and listening to the songs (which I really like as well).
