This news first came out months ago but as we approach the starting date, confirmations are in. I know Michelle Chen wanted to be a singer at first and even released an album before called Me, Myself, and I. She also sang a few songs for her movies and dramas; one that I’m fond of is her duet with now-hubby Chen Xiao for Yu Zheng’s Romance of the Condor Heroes. As for Taiwanese pop singer Teresa Teng, the talented singer passed away when she was only 42 in 1995 and this drama plans on showcasing the growth of her life and career in three stages as she hit the limelight, then stepped into bigger stages outside of Taiwan, and finally her days as she attempted to return to normalcy.

While Teresa did die when I knew nothing about music, she was still a prominent figure as I grew up with my uncles playing her songs over and over and them getting featured religiously in tvb dramas back then. I must admit, I have all the songs above in my playlist in the folder I labeled Classic Songs. Her voice was definitely sweet and sharp, as were most of the older singers, and perfect for traditional folk songs and ballads. I feel like their voices just cut right through my soul. Lol. As I read her profile, it’s interesting to note that while she did perform in many Asian countries, she never performed in Mainland China!
With 60 episodes in mind, production is due to begin on 3/16.

I like Michelle Chen. She doesn’t resemble Teresa though, Teresa is quite a beauty and her face is more round. ZLY is known for a round face but I don’t really get it because it is not round to me, it is just only a bit wider than most people but it’s not that wide either. Forget about the resemblance but I hope it will be a good storyline because everybody loves Teresa very much. She once dated Jackie Chan I wonder if somebody will play has him? lol

Actress Wang Yun / Rebecca Wang when she was younger looks like Teresa Teng. Also Song Yi looks a bit like her, just a tad bit.
I don’t see much resemblance with Michelle.

I’m a fan of Teresa’s songs, not a fan of her voice. Forgive me for not understanding her appeal. I didn’t grow up listening to her songs, so when I compare her to singers nowadays, I don’t find anything too unique about her voice.
In any case, they really taking out the big guns for this production! Majority of the cast are experienced veterans. I expect the quality for this one to be good!

Understand the different taste! Im not from the 80’s but I do love her voice because of the naturalness. Tong li is my top list actually, then Chyi yu and maybe Jane Zhang.
What I did not like much about modern singers are they sing kind of just like me singing but except they are much more attractive. As long as you’re not that off tune you are pretty much a singer. Like jolin, thanks to ruby Lin she looked like her a bit and she can dance real good but her voice isn’t amazing though.

I love Jane Zhang myself :), but Jane Zhang has a lot of different vocal techniques and her range is amazing.
