I really don’t know the appeal of spy dramas. Lol. Even with Li Ying’s Rookie Agent Rouge, I did not complete it. And yet here we are…with another spy drama in our hands, this time led by Qin Jun Jie and Xu Lu called Spy Hunter (天衣无缝). They are a fresh pairing and I like Xu Lu in bigger productions. The director and writer have been good before so let’s hope it’s not another deflated attempt.

Not fond of spy and detective dramas…movies are ok. But for drama, they always drag out 1 easy case into so many episodes.
At least I’m not seeing any horrific bob cat hair style on anyone here. It’s interesting that Rookie Agent is on Netflix, the posters were beautiful, but even Lu Yi couldn’t save the show, it was just downright boring. The character she played as was just not adorable and likeable at all, way too arrogant but not even that smart. Swear, she should’ve chosen a better show that year, sigh.

Li YIng and Lu Yi paired killed the drama for me from the start. Even the second lead was better than Lu YI. Lu Yi is a good actor but I really dont think he was the right choice to star oppsite Li Ying in the drama. I could not even watch it past eps 10. Of course the script was badly written.

The director and writer combi alone make it get big attention currently in China. In the Name of People with The Disguiser? China ppl are going gaga over it xD. I read some spoilers about the novel that say the role Xu Lu will play was already dead since the beginning of story, but here they promote her as the female lead for the TV series ver. Wonder if there’ll be big changes for the adaptation. As for Lu Yi, some say he’s also a regular cast, main even, billed in 3rd or 4th in cast list, some say he’s guest star.

In the novel, Xu Lu’s character partnered a younger Ah Cheng (Wang Kai’s character in The Disguiser). Gotta admit I’m curious who they’re gonna cast for this role (or maybe they’ll just edit out the character altogether). It’s basically a prequel to The Disguiser.
